K-O-B-E

Yeah, Kobe's team is doing real good right now, huh? His team has lost 8 of 10. Where was he against Denver and the Clippers? He goes off and then doesn't score during the last 8 minutes of EACH game, all the while his team blows a big lead. 9-30 against DEN and 7-26 against PHO... what a player.

yes, kobe-50! again. third most 50-point games in a season in nba history. he's a machine. m-v-p! m-v-p! where would the lakers be w/o him? he just a pippen-like sidekick and look out!

And a Steve Kerr like side-kick, too. Smuch Parker just isn't doing it for me.

This is the absolute WRONG way to play basketball. Being a ball-hog doesn't work. The worst team in all creation (i.e. the Bulls) figured that out the hard way when they kept feeding MJ for 40-50 per back before they got good. How did they get good? They went to a TEAM concept. The so-called Lake Show does not have that right now. Kobe will get his ball-hogging 50 and they will LOSE. Couldn't happen to a better guy.

Kobe and Klanq Fu both whomp.

I'll take Johnson, Worthy, Abdul-Jabbar, Rambis, etc., and mop up the court with this bunch of misfits.

The best part to me about Kobe is watching his teamates just standing there watching him. Basketball is a team game ... BALL HOGS GO HOME. I guess that is why I don't like the NBA.

jordan bryant. they're in the same category. jordan a slightly better shooter overall, but kobe slightly better from 3-land. kobe a better passer, but he also turns it over more than michael. about the same on the boards and both good defenders. both incredible in the clutch. pretty much a dead heat.

Kobe isn't even in the same league as MJ. If he is so good then why is their record so bad when he is scoring 50 so much?

PLAIN AND SIMPLE ... TEAM BALL! Look how the Spurs/Suns get easy baskets! That is how you play hoops! TEAM TEAM TEAM

That's not the point. Of course 8/24 isn't in the same league as Jordan. It's the comparison in the topic of ball-hogging. Jordan had roughly the same results when he was a ball hog. His teammates did essentially the same thing as the Lakers are now: standing there with their thumbs up their butts just watching 8/24.

Not that I like Jordan anyway. I'd much rather have Johnson or Bird than Jordan.

Funny Simmons quote on Kobe:

In a giant pickup game with every NBA player waiting to play and two fans forced to pick sides with their lives depending on the outcome of the game (I think this is how the annual Rucker League tournament works), who would be the first player picked based on the way everyone played that season?

Answer: If you'd honestly pick Nash or Nowitzki over Kobe, I don't know what to tell you. There's no other acceptable answer for this question.

Even better quote from Simmons :) I couldn't have said it better myself.

8. Kobe Bryant
Averaging 41 points in the past 31 days, a stretch that featured two 40-point games, four 50-point games and two 60-point games. Absolutely remarkable, even if the Lakers went 8-8 over that stretch and will get slaughtered by Phoenix in Round 1 because they reverted back to "Let's stand around and wait for Kobe to take over" mode. So much for the round of "Mr. Team Play" stories (can I have that two months of my life back?). And for anyone arguing that Kobe deserves MVP consideration for carrying an obviously mediocre team ... um, isn't he the same guy who pushed Shaq out of town and created this mess in the first place?

(I can't stick him higher than eighth. I just can't.)

I think we should change this MVP award back to whoever's the best player. That, or hand out a player of the year award as well.

Or MVP and and MOST SHOTS TAKEN AWARD .. which in that case i would give it to Kobe :)

So if your life was decided on a pickup game of NBA stars, you would not take Kobe first?

No way. I'll take Johnson any day of the week.
