Kobe is one of the many reasons I no longer watch or have ANY interest in the NBA.

I will take 100 Kobes over Artest and Bibby who run amock in Sacramento. :twocents:

I understand Artest. But what the cr@p has Bibby done to generate this vitriol.

As far as Kobe himself, he was acquitted in the so-called "rape" case, but he has plenty of other things to worry about. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he were to get caught up in the HGH junk going on right now. The fact of the matter is that the Zen Master not withstanding, the Lakers will not make it past the second round of the playoffs and may not get past the first round simply because all anyone has to do is play 5-on-Kobe and they'll win. He has ZERO supporting cast.

If saying amock is vitriol, you are watching wayyyyy too much wrestling on TV. If you have to ask the question, you apparently haven't paid attention to all the media coverage of Bibby and his Team Dime thugs he runs with and all the places they are now banned from in Sac due to their behaviour. Just because Ron Ron has trumped Bibby in the media doesn't make Mikey an angel.

And kobe on HGH? Where did you read that? I don't think he coul dget any if he wanted, your heros like Kurt Angle snapped up the supply.

I didn't say that 8/24 IS or WAS definitely on the juice. I'm just saying that given his character, if it does come out that he has done that at some point I would not be surprised one iota.

Re Bibby/Artest: perhaps I'm under a rock, but between Artest/AI/Rasheed, et. al., I hadn't heard of Bibby doing anything untoward.

Pretty funny, Kobe was the coverboy for the NBA prior to him cheating on his wife and having to pay off the little slut in CO. Name something else he has done. I need to send some help to get you out from under the rocks, Bibby has been all over the newspaper, the talk shows, etc. Both Sherriff Blanas and now McGinness have had to answer questions regarding Bibby and Team Dime. They are banned from several clubs in Sac. It is amazing, the start fights, Bibby's thugs beat someone up, and amazingly no one wants to point the finger when the cops show up, yet the club owners bacn Bibby and Co. What does that tell you. Artest has a rap sheet and a half. There have been 6 separate sheriffs responses to the Artest residence in the last year, that doesn't include the various animal abuse charges pending against Ron Ron. These guys make Kobe look like a choirboy.

jordan bryant. they're in the same category. jordan a slightly better shooter overall, but kobe slightly better from 3-land. kobe a better passer, but he also turns it over more than michael. about the same on the boards and both good defenders. both incredible in the clutch. pretty much a dead heat.

6-3. Plus Kobe had the most dominant player in the NBA at the time.

...I am a big Kobe fan though. The idea of Nash winning three MVP's while Kobe hasn't won one is kind of a joke.

I don't have a problem w/ Nash winning the MVP's that he's won. The Suns are the Indy Colts of the NBA and Nash is the Peyton Manning of the Suns. Maybe this year they'll win it like the Colts did. I think it's pretty much a toss up between the two. It's just a matter of how the voters interpret "valuable." Taking half your teams shots and scoring half your teams points gets you on ESPN, but when that philosophy doesn't win you games it really doesn't matter to anyone besides 8th graders with Kobe posters on their walls.

PLEASE say your kidding.

Kobe isn't even in Nash's league. Nash does it all, defense, passing, rebounding, shooting, LEADING, and KB shoots.

Not to mention Nash is a good guy.

Agreed. 8/24 is a bad-attitude ball-hog. Jordan himself proved that that doesn't get the job done. (Not that I believe that Jordan was all that and a bag of chips.) A one-man band doesn't win a title. Those bloody LA titles in the "new" era were the work of 8/24 AND Klanq Fu. Both are proving my basic premise separately: 8/24 is losing on his own, and Klanq Fu got himself a supporting cast in Miami and won another title.

As Alpha said, 8/24 is a pure ball-hog. I'm not sure if he's trying to masquerade as a PG as Nick Van Smack did, but a PG who just shoots the moon doesn't work. Give me guys like Johnson, Worthy, Rambis, and Abdul-Jabbar who play as a TEAM and I'll give you titles on a regular basis.

You really showed what little you know about basketball saying Nash plays defense in the same breathe as Kobe plays Defense. Ask any Coach in the NBA, they ALL sayd Kobe is in the top 5 of all NBA players on D. Alpha, you gotta stick with FB my friend. If you keep posting stuff like that I will think you are a Democrat. :thumb:

Put Kobe on the suns instead of nash... In my opinion, they would've won an NBA championship by now.

If you put Kobe on the Suns, Stoudamire and Marion aren't all stars, and it's a very similar team to the current L.A. lakers. :twocents:

YOu can say that again, and don't forget Barbosa (sp) off the bench, He woul dbe starting for the Lakers. Not tkaing anything away from the Suns and Nash, because he is unreal, but the best all aroundplayer in the NBA is Kobe, there is no question. That doesn't make him the MVP necessarily, but tell me what the score woul dbe if he went 1 on 1 against Nash. It would be embarassing for Nash.

this MVP term has really gotten out of hand. as has the heisman. these awards should be going to the best player. Just about everyone knows that Kobe is the most talented, er, best player in the NBA. all this valuable nonsense hasn't been as ridiculous when it comes to the heisman but look at the voting... guys like johnson and russell weren't even considered.

Kobe would have won a couple more if not for the Colorado incident which turned some people against him. No matter what he did, even had their been a trial and he was found not guilty, some would still say he was guilty. The fact is, there are still a lot fo racists in the country. If it had been a white guy and a black girl, people would have said she was out for $$$.
