JUCO and Spring Transfers 2014

Any word on the possible 2013 JUCO Transfers for 2014?

Eddie Releford III played another season @ Pima C.C. instead of transferring to a Division I program. Eddie was the Defensive MVP in Washington State's 2011 All-Star game and a preferred walk-on @ Washington State University before transferring to Pima C.C. in AZ. There are 2 other Lakes alumni to keep an eye on for OL, DL and RB: Zaheer Webb (D-I recruit @ Colorado, but academically deficient transferred to Pima C.C. to improve his academic performance) and Levonte Littlejohn (Central Washington University transferred to Pima C.C.).

TNT’s 2011 All-Area Football Team

ZAHEER WEBB, Lakes
Defensive Line, 6-3, 320, Senior
Bio: Often overshadowed by talented teammates, Webb doesn’t go overlooked by opposing offensive coordinators. A massive, nearly-immovable object in the middle of Lakes’ defensive front, Webb played one of his best games of the season in the quarterfinal loss to top-ranked Bellevue, recording six tackles. Along with teammate Ma’ne Manaea, Webb has given an oral commitment to play at the University of Colorado.

TNT’s 2010 All-Area Football Team

LEVONTE LITTLEJOHN, Lakes
Running back, 5-11, 185, Junior
Bio: One of the bright surprises of the 2010 season, Littlejohn has emerged as one of the state’s top rushers. He has run for 1,927 yards and 21 touchdowns, averaging more than 11 yards per carry. In three postseason games, he has rushed for 789 yards and nine touchdowns. In an overtime quarterfinal win at No. 3 Camas, he carried 29 times for 258 yards and three touchdowns.

Rumor control: Heard that former Lakes Lancer and U of Dub LB, Jamaal Kearse, is graduating from the U of Washington and is considering playing his last eligible year @ Montana, Eastern Washington or another Division I team.

That sounds interesting. I assume the Griz will be in need of a gap-filling MLB next season. Not sure if Jamaal plays inside or outside...

Our priorities have to be MLB and OL. Coyle leaves a huge vacancy and I don't see anyone in the depth chart prepared to replace him since Kose does not seem to be able to stay healthy.

It will be interesting to see if Jeremiah Kose can get/stay healthy, if not Connor Strahm is listed at 230 right now as a freshman so he might be able to grow into that Mike role. He is certainly an athlete.

Those stretches do not give me a lot of confidence starting the season at Wyoming and NDSU.

Well, it's that or recruit a transfer or juco, or pack it in and cancel the program.
