Lucas Johnson will be just fine. He’s had two rough games where he turned the ball over. Eliminate the turnovers this week and we likely win.

I’ve heard he was battling an illness last week and it certainly looked like his focus and energy was just off. Could have been the case.

This team will go as far as LJ takes us so like it or not people need to get on board. He is a dynamic playmaker when he’s on and we will need him to step up going forward. He has the capability.

What makes Johnson better and upgrades our offense over last years is his ability to use his legs but for whatever reason they have shied away from that the last couple games.

The report of him battling an illness last week sure makes sense as something was certainly “just not right” with his performance. His RPO’s were pretty much relegated to a handoff or a pass. (Not him keeping it) which when LJ can run, makes him tough to defend.
Here is to hoping he is back to 100% for this week-end!
Go Griz!

Go Griz!

Might take into account the number of times the snap was bobbled... or not?

So we'd rather have a sick LJ than Brown or Britt running the offense 100% healthy? What does that say about the coaching staff's confidence level of ANYBODY behind Johnson?

Thanks for the summary. Very interesting. I would have thought Johnson would have been more on top, altho he is running.

I would have thought the same, especially since one of Cam's games was at UW. Begs the question as to where LJ's running ability went the last 2 games. Maybe he is nicked up like others have said.

First I will say I do not have inside information. I suspect that right knee or leg (plant leg) is bothering Lucas even before whatever happened in the Idaho game. To me as a former coach and athletic trainer, this would explain inaccurate throws and hesitation in running. Just an observation and a guess.

I think we will be fine with Lucas, did anyone watch that Denver game where Wilson threw even worse than Lucas, happens to even the best of them it only comes down to how they shake that game off and flush it and move on.
My question is after this year, when he has graduated then what, why can't we we get a solid two or three year QB instead of a one year guy. Imagine what we would have had if we would have had Sneed another year. I just don't understand (because I don't know) why can't we do like EWU or even the kittens do or for that matter the rest of the conference does and develop a multi year QB
