Really interesting comments by RE at the end of the piece.
He doesn't seem happy at all...

Ya think?
Not very surprised. I bet his first thoughts after hearing the verdict was, "oh shit".

Johnson was suspended from the team pending the outcome of the trial. The penalty schedule for UM’s athletic code of conduct calls for dismissal from the team for a category 1 offense – if he or she “is charged with a felony and in looking at the totality of the circumstances, it is reasonable to believe the person committed the act (e.g., rape, sexual assault, other felony assault, etc.).”

The same conduct code has an appeal policy that reads, in part, “Dismissal or reduction of a criminal charge is a change of circumstance that may or may not justify revision of a suspension.”

He was found NOT GUILTY in a court of law. The UM's kangaroo court isn't above our State court.

“I’m not really going to comment on that,” he said. “It went through the court of law. It was a very rigorous trial that was very difficult for everyone involved.

None of us are in any position to second-guess the decision. We’ll just go forth from here based on what the court decided.”

Ummmm, it sounds like you are....

Well you would not be happy either if you were trying to digest what just happened and your smart phone was going nuts. Suppose Royce looks down and sees a picture of Pat Williams and a fifth unanswered call within two minutes. "Ohhhh nooo. What do I tell the big boss now? Sh*t, what about RP and JO and the legal mess that could follow? What if JJ decides to petition to play again? Ohhhh noooo. I need a drink, antacid, antidepressant. How did I get in this mess? Was it my ego? No, couldn't be. Stupidity? No, couldn't be. Am I underqualified? No, I think I know what I am doing. That F'in reporter from the Missoulian and Williams led me like a puppet on a string. God I hate when that happens. I am going home and watching The Sound of Music. This will all go away. Please make it all go away!

What RE needs to think about is trying to mend some bridges and get the University Back to "a happy place." A court of law has found him not guilty which says he didn't do anything wrong other than display poor judgement. The process seems clear.....he submits in writing a request to be reinstated and the conduct board either allows or not. I for the life of me, other than more political rambling, can't figure out why they wouldn't ok his request. The procedings indicated he was the one telling the truth so........

It will be interesting to see what Jordy does. I believe he is close to graduating and has been dealt a poor hand regarding Main Hall. I honestly think his teammates will figure into this. I wish him well.

I am not sure Rolls Royce's ego will allow him to mend any bridges and I am being serious when I say that. Hubris - has cost many President's, CEO's and managers their jobs. RR's job is likely on the line and he better wake up. Just don't think he will.
