Joey Elwell hangs it up

Hope he does well in whatever is next! Not all too surprising though. That tight-end room is pretty deep and when Resnvold came back, Elwell's snaps really decreased.
 
He played as a freshman, so there was clearly something there.

Why this was such a difficult spot to integrate into the offense output these last few years is a mystery. Kid should have had twelve or more catches a season, not in a career.

I'd like to see more of of these traditional, large but athletic tight ends in use, blocking and catching as opposed to a TE who's more of a wide receiver. I thought Elwell did a good job and could have been used more.

There's a new TE coach in town. Don't know if that matters.
 
I thought he did a commendable job sorry to see him leave ,hopefully it wasn’t for a injury. Good luck young man
