JJ Trial

Making objections during a closing is very dangerous as it emphasizes the point to the jury and makes the jury believe you are not wanting them to hear and consider everything. It is rarely done for that reason unless the argument is totally out of line. State has their rebuttal to make still. You usually speak to those issues then. Jury may well be offended by prosecutor at this point.

Paoli reading woman's msg "It just seems like the more and more this thing drags on the more I feel guilty about it." #JohnsonTrial

Holy shit, why wasn't this brought up earlier? Or was it?

Hence perhaps her level of anxiety during this whole mess.

question:

At some point does the jury start to get upset with some of the bias and, conscious or unconsciously, hold it against the prosecution?

this has to piss some of these jurors off, who are actually trying to be unbiased...
that's why I thought it was a good move by Paoli to push the limit of Boylan, to get her to object, which I thought might look bad for her in the eyes of the jury. I don't recall the defense objecting to any of Boylan's baloney.
Has to make the jury wonder what Boylan is afraid of and why she would object to things that were mentioned in testimony being brought up.

Exactly what I was thinking.

With all these diagrams and having sex with cardboard cutouts it's like that SIMs game one of my daughters play.

I was wondering if the prosecution was afforded rebuttal. Really makes the prosecution look scared that they're objecting so much during the defense closing.

There seems to be a problem with twitter. it sounds as if paoli was demonstrating sex on the floor with the cut out and had to check his notes to see what to do next.

That was different. RT @EmilyNBCMT: Paoli sits on outlined silhouette same height as woman on ground to explain alleged rape. #JohnsonTrial

WTF!

Does the DOJ have a seat at the table?

Does the DOJ have a seat at the table?

Just asked the 3 main reporters on twitter to confirm if the DOJ is feeding the state with prompts for objections...

I read the DOJ thing to mean that Paoli was saying the DOJ is talking to the county, but not in the courtroom...as part of the investigation. Tweets are obviously kind of ambiguous sometimes.

Follow up , no the DOJ was not talking with county attorney, per the KECI and Missoulian reporter (Szpaller) there.

Yep and that was what they meant.

Since the defense started their closing arguments i cant see any of gwens tweets. I hope her phone didn't die on her. I mean something must be wrong I'm sure she would want to tweet both sides of the story for everyone to read and make their own conclussion. This is so unlike her. brint can you check on this.

Paoli: Jordan Johnson testified to you directly, consistently. He doesn't change from place to place. #JohnsonTrial
