Of course you're not being objective. You think her movie choices have to do with her psychological condition.
Of course not.

I think that people who profess that "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is their favorite movie are just perfectly normal people, too, just like those who like to watch with their dates, "Faces of Death."

Just perfectly normal people.

Like you.

Look, I think JJ is going to be innocent as well...but her movie choices have nothing to do with it. I enjoy horror movies, like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. That doesn't mean that I secretly want to kill people with a chainsaw or accuse people of doing so. You continually saying these types of things shows your bias, and quite frankly, it makes you look less intelligent than you actually are.

The choice of movies is just as the prosecutor warned about various aspects of this case regarding the alleged victim and her behaviors: odd.

If an ax murderer was on trial, and his favorite movie just happened to be "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," are you really claiming "gee, that was just a coincidence, it is not relevant at all?"

Even a psychologist papered with credentials making such a claim would be laughed out of court on that one.

Is it hugely relevant? Well, perhaps if he actually used a chainsaw ...

Trial puzzles are assembled from many small pieces. That's one of them.

So, you're saying that:

favorite movie "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and crime "murder by chainsaw" is the same as

movie chosen that night "Movie based on Scarlet Letter" and crime ____________?

That's the funny thing. Who is alleged to have committed a crime here?

I'm fascinated. You're right. I'm fascinated, intrigued, and flabergasted that someone as intelligent as you would say that a movie starring Emma Stone provides context to this case.

I'd use some different adjectives.

The sex was all from behind, and she was on her knees (and presumably hands or elbows). I don't understand how rape can occur this way.

Perhaps because he forced her to get in that position and she was scared? Nowhere in the definition of rape will you find it's only plausible in the missionary position. My gawd you're a f-ing idiot of an attorney (and the male species for that matter).

Before you reply to my post with some idiotic reponse, let me stop you by saying I don't think he'll be found guilty because I don't think he is. That should make you happy.

Except that the girl herself said he never once forced her to do anything. She cooperated with everything because she "gave up".

Whether or not this is rape is arguable, but it's getting harder and harder to show how JJ knew he was doing this knowing she wasn't consenting.

Jpun and I have had some interesting exchanges in the past and I am certainly not of fan of his nor his fav BSCteam but I think he has been pretty objective with this trial. I do not think he is wanting JJ found guilty at all cost but I think he is wanting a fair and open trial.
Early on in this blog Jpunsaid, " I've said this before so I'll say it again. I don't want to see JJ on the field for selfish reason in that the last time he played the Cats he shredded them. That's doesn't mean I want him in prison in the alternative. Jesus Christ, man. It's that simple. I want JJ to get justice. If that means getting acquitted or getting in the slammer, so be it "

Wow. Wrong again. You've made no mention of the psychologist's testimony providing context for the case. You've only mentioned a movie to fill in the gaps, provide the context, and explain the situation at hand. Only of of these two backgrounds is admissible in a trial. It isn't the movie.

I'm fascinated. You're right. I'm fascinated, intrigued, and flabergasted that someone as intelligent as you would say that a movie starring Emma Stone provides context to this case.

Well, Montana did recruit her brother to play QB, which just so happens to be the position that Jordan Johnson played. That makes it relevant, right? Oh...it doesn't?...nevermind

This. Dude hasn't really said anything I disagree with, other than maybe "go cats" at some point.

There are definitely Cat fans that want to see JJ slammed simply because they hate UM, but JPunch isn't one of them. Lets take it easy, guys.

Huh. That is an odd coincidence, though.

 awesome!

Am I the only person that feels like this Green roommate is inconsistent as fuck??

Just when I think he's helping the accuser's story, Paoli gets him to change his story...

Whatever that gibberish means.

I think the movie choice was merely interesting given the context of the case. It fits the prosecutor's warning of "odd" and the psychologist's similar warning of "counterintuitive" behaviors, in this case, that she wants her male date to watch a movie about a woman who lies about having sex with other students to gain social status at her school.

I am positive that is a normal movie choice that women would think that a college quarterback would want to watch.

I am also convinced that I have likely criticized your favorite movie.

You appear to think that is not only an unremarkable choice of movies, you appear obsessed by the thought that it should be considered completely unremarkable.

We disagree.

Now, the rest of the trial can move forward with your objection noted for the record.

I eagerly await the "not-guilty" verdict that this trial seems to be inexorably marching toward, if for no other reason than the crying and gnashing of teeth that will take place on bcn.

I may have to re-join for a few days just to enjoy it.

False. I urge you to point to any comments on BCN where Cat fans are hoping for a guilty verdict.

That's a little difficult to do when I don't visit the site.

However, there are more than enough posting on here openly hoping for a guilty verdict, so my presumption would be there are plenty there doing the same.

I'm sorry a trial like this impacts the lives of many people - in particular the lives of the two people involved in this trial and their families.

It is simply a shame to see "people" (would like to use other words here) turn it into a Cat-Griz thing. Probably one of the lowest things I've seen in a long time...

No. That whole "I thought she was exaggerating" and "I didn't think she was exaggerating" exchange was intense. It is his perception, but it undermines her credibility.

Yet you are one of the people I am talking about...

Roommate is either lying or a puss! Girl says she was just raped and you do nothing and let her leave with him???

Have you read the thread?

I'm disgusted because many (and here I won't isolate cat fans) have turned it into precisely what you and I agree it shouldn't be: a pissing match between Griz and Cat fans.

Thanks, man.

And UMGriz, if you can't beat them, make fun of them. I'll think of other movies that slightly parallel the current situation.

So your answer is to throw fuel on the fire and presume cats fans are hoping for a guilty verdict - WTF?!

Sorry - I'm tapping out of this entirely. Disgusting behavior no matter how you justify it.

Seriously, if any girl tells you she thinks she's been raped and is still with the guy and they happen to be 10 feet away, get off the couch and kick him out!
