JJ completion percentage

This only deep ball passing game is killing JJ's completion percentage, why don't they throw some 10 yard passes across the middle that are tough to defend. The deep pass is exciting, but throwing them every pass is not a good strategy.

JJs not throwing well period this game. Lots of balls way off. 6 for 12 atm I think...

He got the crap beat out of him last week thanks to the complete lack of O-Line protection. Its possible hes really not fully recovered from that beating.

JJ was "rolling" his right shoulder early in the game....like it was hurting or something...not sure if that's the issue or what but he's not his normal self, for sure.

JJ was rolling his arm most of the NAU game also.
Hopefully he isn't getting tendonitis or something like that in his throwing shoulder.

Not JJ's best game, but his performance was more than sufficient. More concerning was his missing open receivers completely in several cases. Looked like he was also set on going for the deep ball and overlooked his mid route receivers. Maybe just needed to get settled after last game. I would also like to see some short routes on 1st and second down to keep the D honest.

Not a good strategy for what?

Not a good offensive strategy in general, the long bomb is a long percentage pass, and running it too many times and having it fall incomplete can lead to lots of 2nd and 3rd and longs. Our receivers have lots of run after catch ability, we can get some big plays off shorter passes, I do like that the Griz air it out, but I think they go to the bomb too many times and that is why JJ's completion percentage is going down, although it might be helping to back the safeties off the running game.

What matters most is the W at the end. I don't care if Jordy is 2 for 17 if we get the W get the W. Go Griz

I personally don't like throwing the deep ball time after time when your recievers are not put running the DB. BUT, of the middle is dangerous. One deflection/bad catch/miss is close to a turn over. If there has to be a turn over I'd rather see it deep down field. The 4TDs were short passes. Right?! Ya can't bitch about that. I will add that on short yardage play, BRING IN COUNTS!!!!! DuH!!

This kid is OUTSTANDING!!! But for the life of me, I CAN NOT see why he is only gettin garbage time. UgH!!

i like joey as well....but we have a great tandem in canada and van and they need to get as many reps as they can to complete the offensive plan come playoffs...(canada so close today to break one to the endzone...he was excellent and improved today) establish the run game to give jj more time to throw or play action...versatility, oline, talent and great coaching gets your offense ready for the playoffs. joey's time will come this year even with this formula...he is that good.

I am with EVERYBODY, Joey Counts is very good with potential to be great, and I think John Nyguen isn't far behind. BUT, Joey is not the starter because Jordan and Travon are special RIGHT NOW. If you can't see that you have an agenda. Counts should get a few more touches when the play-calling dictates so, but bottom line, he's behind two all-conference running backs right now, and any argument against that is agenda driven.

JJ leads the nation in passing efficiency, and is the only qb in the top 75 without at least one interception.

Joey Counts is getting his yards when the defense KNOWS we're going to run. i would love to see what he could do when the team wasn't one-dimensional. Also, if we're going to play SSH, McKinney and Gustafson, why not let them throw it a time or two to see what they can do? If they're just going in to hand off to the running back, might as well just leave JJ in there.

McKinney hasn't played a snap, has he? Is Delaney trying to persuade him to transfer, or is something else going on?

McKinney played a little bit on Saturday -- came in after Smithwick-Hann had his two seconds of fame.
