Sorry Soup- not FCS
'"Southern Oregon checked a few boxes for Souers that made it ideal. As an NAIA school, Souers said Southern Oregon puts him away from the politics and added stress of trying to build a consistent contender at an FCS school.
Throw in that the school is in the same state as most of Souers’ family and his 82-year-old mother, the chance was even better.
“My mom lives in Eugene, Oregon, and I got family in Portland and three generations of family out there,” Souers said. “I’ve been waiting to get closer to them. … (My mom) literally wept when she learned I was coming home.”
