This is for the few Cat and Griz fans who in my opinion are making us all look like a bunch of assholes. I mentioned in another thread that I am a law enforcement officer in the Flathead and also bleed blue and gold. I can tell you in the 12 years I have worked in law enforcement I have seen individuals and families destroyed due to sexual assaults and rapes. I do not know if the recent allegations against Johnson are true or not, but that is not the point. If they are true then he and any others involved in this type of activity deserve the harshest of punishments. My point here is that the minority of so called cat and griz fans need to STOP throwing fuel on this fire and let the justice system run its course. I have investigated several sexual crimes and the fact is some are legitimate and others are not. There is nobody on either egriz or BN that have any clue what happened the night in question. I am and will always be a proud Cat fan, who will continue to not like the griz.(THIS IS WHAT MAKES HAVING AN IN STATE RIVALRY SO FUN). To see certain so-called fans take pleasure in human suffering at the expense of the young men and women involved makes me sick. I live and breathe Bobcat Football, but I also realize that in these situations, it is not about football, but the lives of young men and women. Did JJ rape some girl? I don't know, but I'm sure in the end the truth will come out. I take pleasure in watching the grizzlies get beat, but I am appalled at the few who represent my school who seem to take pleasure in this type of negativity. I know a lot of griz fans who are arrogant asses and I am starting to see some Cat fans who who disgust me. Im sure a minority of Cat fans will think I am not loyal to my team, but it is you who need to see where your loyalties are. I know there are a small minority of Griz fans who find the same pleasure in troubles with MSU players. Working in law enforcement I have seen real victims and how there lives change after such things. Maybe its time some on both sides grow up and realize that there will always be bad apples in both programs. Its time to let justice run its course and see who the true victims are. Maybe there are several players who have sexually assaulted or raped, maybe not. If so this is a black eye for the state of montana whether it be the griz or the Cats. I bet that there are not many athletes for either school that hope these allegations are true. Its time for some of you to grow up and realize real people are getting hurt. GO CATS!!!

I am a huge Griz fan and I am dissappointed with the responses above to Honcho. Honcho hit it correctly on all points. The responses that pick apart every word and take offense to logic and concern for the people whose lives are affected are disgusting and reveal the pettiness of fans I am aligned with. If the accusations are true, I feel badly for the victim and hope she can recover to deal with this injustice while proceeding with her life and that the accused will come clean and never again commit such a disgusting act. If the accusations are false, I feel badly for JJ and hope he overcomes the injustices against him and that the accuser is dealt with appropriately. In either case, lives are affected and will never be able to recover completely. The pettiness of you wordsmithers blacken the eye of the team you support. You just seek to revel in the pain of others and further your fandom by wallowing in pettiness.

I agree with Ishaneg's statement too. We as Montanans are better than this petty bickering.
 
I like that Honcho is trying to put in a little civility into this blog. I work in the legal field as well and even by Egriz standards, the harshness of the comments have been surprising at times. I think it has to do with the combination of sports fans and anonymity. However, sexual assault is still one of those crimes where some view it as a victimless crime so it's important to combat the stereotypes in all contexts, including anonymous sports blogs. It's unlikely these folks would say those same things in Honcho's world of pain and justice. All in all, thank you Honcho for trying to stand up to the rabble. I appreciate everything you do for society. :clap:

You guys (and gals?) realize that the amount of keyboard big-ballers and get-a-lifers that frequent this website would barely fill a school bus, don't you? And 99% of Griz and Cats fans don't even know what an EGriz or Bobcatnation is, (or really give a shit). This place is generally for barroom banter and tearing each other down... living in the bubble. I lived it and loved it for a couple of years... Now? It bores the shit out of me. Same dudes, same lame holier-than-thou crap. Not a lot of logic or reality checks most of the time... just a pissin' contest. But, please, don't take it any advice from me... I live outside the bubble. Carry on. Hammer... You still rock, dude.

Nope, it's not directed at me. I don't relish in the misfortunes of Cat players. In fact, I sometimes support Cat players who have had some problems. The post is directed more at posters like you, who are infrequent posters and come on the board to make harsh posts and act like jerks. You are among the worst.
 
Some nice posts on this thread! Thank you Honcho, Ishaneg, Griz1 & Cody for putting some intelligence and perspective on E-griz!! I can't help but notice that none of you have many posts on this site. You probably represent the thoughts & feelings of the silent majority of the members and viewers of this site. At least I hope you do!

Bear Axed, Im sorry you feel I am being a hypocrit, that was not my intention at all. I was simply implying that I have no clue IF or not any other players are involved. I think you missed my point that even as a Cat fan, I am tired of some posters guessing and making up things as they go. Even as a Cat fan, I take no joy in seeing off field problems for your school or any others. It seems to me that you are the type of poster who is trying to keep the bad feelings and name calling a part of this board. It is you sir that I feel sorry for. Well then, I've once again succeeded in mirroring how a rather large percentage of the posters on BOBCATNATION post about the griz. That's the persona I've tried to take on, by reading BN and mimicking most of what I read and see there! Sometimes it's tough to act trite and pathetic and near sighted and envious and inferior all at the same time, but I'm working on it! Maybe you should work on cleaning up your side of the street 1st?
