The 5 year NCAA eligibility cap could be gone as soon as next week.

It's probably going to initially only allow those who would've gotten extra years from the previous Pavia case to play past the 5 years, but now there's precedent for someone that wants to challenge that anyone who is enrolled in good standing at a university is eligible to play as long as they remain enrolled and in good standing. 🙃

At some point one of these judges needs to stand up and tell these kids they can't go to college past 8 years. This is just absurd. Tired of these judges bending over backwards for these kids.
Damn right. I went to college for 8 years without judicial intervention, and these entitled little jerks need help? I say don’t give it to them! We don’t need no more education once we can read good.

To me college foot ball as I used to know it is almost over. My love of watching the game is now tainted with NIL and waivers. I always felt playing college FB was special. I always watched college FB over professional FB. Now, I feel it is being played in court & for money instead of for alumni & fans. I don't like this new image of the sport.

It's time to separate the divisions to Elite, then everyone else.

Everyone else limits NIL and no more than 6 years of eligibility. Elites are pretty much professional.

Griz seem to have quite a few 6 year guys. Didn't they sign or retain 3 or 4?

A few mercenary/flyer/difference-maker type guys that are one offs, but I believe they did a good job in the portal getting many guys with more than one year of eligibility remaining. And some that we retained such as CK at C and ES at TE are good to have as they fill crucial roles.

Judge shopping. This country has gone to hell. F the courts, F the NCAA, and for that matter, F college football, basketball, and whatever.

Holy hell, a judge actually comes to their senses for once.
College football as I knew it is coming to an end. I image requests for injunctions for waivers all the time in 2025. I feel it will be the same for eligibility requirements on players. Next it will be on the transfer portal times and limitations. Following that will be contracts with players & universities. Ongoing that will be the definition of "amateur" and when it comes into play. Is the term "amateur" obsolete? Is college football just a minor league for professional sports?

For college football and basketball - I'd say yes. Other sports - maybe not so much, but it depends how good you are I think.
