It’s the mistakes again

Bobby said UM made way too many mistakes. He thought the team played fundamentally sound, but will have to look at the tape.

Didn't convert enough 3d downs. Not converting on 3d down ends a Griz drive, but also allows Idaho to sit on the ball and run the clock. Can't give Idaho an extra possession on an onside kick.

Allowed Idaho to convert too many third downs. Idaho had too high of a completion percentage. Idaho made plays and UM didn't.

Didn't catch ball, lost the TO battle.

Idaho played well. Idaho didn't really do anything UM didn't expect.

Agreed, I don't know Bobby or have any access to him, but I think our team was fundamentally sound except for the mistakes. I don't know the guy who designed the Tacoma Narrows bridge but he said the same thing.

Coach (who again I don't know, but I've heard his wife is lovely) said that not converting on 3rd down was a drive killer. I don't want to play the "woulda, shoulda,coulda" game but I bet if we'd converted more of those third downs we'd have kept more drives going.

When we gave the ball back to Idaho they were able to run more plays which used up more clock, I wasn't able to ask a player's parent but that seems about right.

Idaho made plays and Montana didn't and that led directly to Idaho winning. That's straight insider info.

Calm down, I was agreeing with you. We were fundamentally sound, except for the mistakes. If we had converted on 3rd down we would have kept more drives alive. Giving the ball to Idaho did allow them to run more plays which used up the clock. At the end of the day Idaho did make more plays and we didn't.

Seems like our WR’s and Qb are getting worse as the season progresses….more dropped passes and overthrows of open receivers (or reeeeaaally bad misses) than we saw in the first 3-4 games.

And I can’t remember the last season where there were two safeties, let alone two in successive games. :shock:

I agree. Also, I have never had the same feeling about the receiver group as many Griz fans.

i didn't register a lot of dropped passes. what i did see were a lot of heroic efforts to get a hand on the ball when it was overthrown (i.e. grossman a couple times, roberts, etc...)

This is the best take on eGriz today. Idaho plays so damn clean and disciplined. Very well coached.

White's drop hurt...that was the most obvious one to me. I thought others were very tough catches to make. Then again elite teams tend to make them...

Well that’s my point. If you’re struggling, dropping passes that are right to you is fundamental to getting out of that funk. And let’s be honest, Bergen’s TD catch was a fucking miracle.

2 dead duck passes for td was the difference. Sure we shot ourselves some, but if we knock down 1 of those passes, it's a tie game.
