Issue watching games online?

Hi all,

I know some of you have issues streaming the games online, I have a possible fix for some of you. If you own a Dell or an Alienware computer, check to see if you have any programs called SmartByte installed on your computer. SmartByte are Dell programs that are supposed to prioritize the bandwidth of your internet connection to the programs you use the most/need the most bandwidth. These programs do not work and you should uninstall them.

In my case, my download speed with SmartByte installed was around 5 Mbps. After uninstalling two SmartByte programs, my download speed jumped to 86 Mbps.

Unfortunately, this is only an issue for Dell/Alienware computers. And, you will have to check this from time to time because they will try to reinstall SmartByte through updates.

Okay, I'm probably just confirming my ignorance, but I went into settings and then apps and didn't see a smartbyte app listed (I have a Dell)...is there somewhere else I should be checking? Thanks for bringing this up and especially thanks for making a number of games available over the last couple of years that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to watch. Appreciate it.

The easiest way to find it is to right-click on the windows icon in the lower left corner, left click on search, type "control panel" into the search box, left-click on control panel, then left-click on the programs icon, then left click on uninstall a program. This will bring up a list of programs on your computer--search here for anything that says SmartBytes (you may not have it depending on the age of your computer). If you find one, highlight it and then left click the uninstall button.

And you're welcome. I'll have this weekends game.
