Is This Move a Up or Move Down?

Sucks to be MWC members on the hook for Boise's poor choice. This probably makes it all but impossible for Idaho to land in the Mountain West. Not a lot of room there.

Idaho was never getting into the Mountain West. Hell, Utah Valley probably has a better shot at the MWC than Idaho does.

I'm sure Fullerton's phone is ringing off the hook with MWC members trying to get into the BSC.

Smart move on BSU part I think. I have a hard time seeing the Big East holding football together for very long anyhow. I have a feeling the MWC will add more schools to be a conf with 14 to 16 teams. I think we will see some combination of CUSA schools joining the MWC to expand.

Sadly when all is said and done there will be an even bigger split in college football with the SEC, PAC12, BIG12, BIG10 being the only conferences playing "BIG BOY" football. The ACC will be consumed by SEC and BIG12. I think all 4 of these conferences will be larger in size than current members. It will be ingesting to see who these four bring in to expand there conferences.

One can only hope that with the left over FBS schools getting the final boot from the BIG BOYS new more regional realignments can be made combining upper level FCS and those left out FBS schools.

I would love to see UM in a new conference with a combination of teams from Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Colorado.

Well Orgon....Clemson consumed LSU last night. Sure glad the ACC school didn't read your post....

In the long run, it will end up being a move up for Boise State for a number of reasons.

1 - BSU has the same access to a BCS game in the MWC as it would have in the Big East, since a member of the group of five (BE, MWC, Sun Belt, MAC and CUSA) will have a spot guaranteed in new BCS system.

2 - With the Catholic basketball schools leaving the Big East, that will only lessen the BE's new TV deal. The MWC will be able to get better TV revenue than the Big East, and Boise State will keep more than in the Big East.

3 - Less travel for Boise State AND its other teams don't have to play in the Big West now. MWC much better than the Big West.

4 - The MWC is now the best group of five conference, especially if it goes and grabs Tulsa and Houston next. If Cincy and UCONN leave, the remaining schools in the Big East probably just merge with CUSA, which is what has happened anyways.

Overall, especially with the TV deal that Boise was able to broker, not to mention the fact that the participating school gets 50% of revenue from a BCS game, it is clear that it is a move up for Boise State.
