Is the NFL the new "thug" league?

Since today we got to see Plax in handcuffs and possibly facing up to 3 and half years in prison, it begs the question Is the Nfl the new league for thugs? Everybody knows that for the past decade maybe longer, the NBA is suppose to be where all the athletic thugs played but now it seems the NFL has taken over that label. Think about, the 9 Bengals that have been arrested? Tank Johnson? Pacman Jones? Vick? Although he seems to be the victim but what about Darrent Willams? And now most recently Plaxico....

This is even relevant to the Montana football program with all the arrests and such that we all know about, football is a great sport but has it got to the point that these players think they can do whatever they want? Even Goodell's harsh punishments hasn't stopped players from being idiots off the field.

It is a great topic and I really hope people don't ruin this thread with their stupidity,

The press decided not give the NFL a free pass at some point. Much like they decided not to extend Roger Clemens free pass.

Personally, I hope the police throw the book at Plaxico..

As far as the league, I think Pacman and Chris Henry should have been perm. banned a while ago. Time to clean up the image of the league.

Every time I see a pro athlete in trouble with the law, I get sick to my stomach. They are getting PAID to play a sport that they succeed in. Stop the horse $hit...focus on the damn game and quit worrying about looking good in public.

I think we all know why the NBA and NFL have these problems and it's really no surprise to anyone.
