Is spring ball worth it??

I've thought of the spring game as a Marketing Event.
Football has been out of the spotlight since December something. Build up this hype about Spring Ball, stir a little interest, play a little golf with the pseudo wannabe's with deep pockets from Missoula, Billings, Podunk, etc., BBQ, coach speeches, rub elbows with them and some players, and rake in some cash. It's about money. Take another three to four months off, then fall camp.
The portal, NIL are new monkey wrenches to deal with. If it was all about player development, they could do it all indoors now, in secret, fine tune that machine, then blow everyone away in the fall.
Cha-ching!

Mick,
I feel you expressed how I and many others feel. I think you are right about it being a marketing event.

The spring game gives players, especially younger players, a chance to show. And the coaches a chance to see them show in more of a game setting. It gives vets a smaller chance to show, and have some fun. It's the end of spring ball. I think the spring game is terrific. Yes, and the other noted stuff too.

It never ceases to amaze me to see what some "fans" question or complain about. There's a phrase that comes to mind, but I won't say it, yet.

Last year, I got a little riled up and started yelling at a zebra for what I thought was a bad call. My brother had to remind me that the Griz were on both sides.

So it can be fun.

Even in a maroon v silver matchup it is fair to heap praise on the officials when warranted. If the players are getting some feedback to tune up for the coming summer and fall, the refs should get thar same opportunity too.😆
