Is "IT" different, and how close now?

I am thinking the time line for us to make a major decision, again, will be July 2013. What can Montana, and Montana State do over the next 6 to 12 months to be ready to make the decision? Getting a full time AD in place would be a great start. Whoever that is,will be under a huge microscope, being the decision will be on his/her plate. If, that person decides us to stay put, and be a puppet for the powers to be, I will be pissed. If, that person is given the green light to move forward, I will be looking forward to the new challenge, and supporting the GRIZ even harder than ever. :thumb:

The problem is that AD will be hired by Engstrom and (if indeed there was an ulterior motive for firing O'Day and Pflu) the new guy will most likely fall in line with Engstrom's way of thinking.

I agree with AzGrizFan....we shouldn't hire a new AD until we clean house and send Engstrom and Foley packing. We are much better off with the temporary AD for now because they would taint the hiring process. George Dennison shouldn't be allowed near Main Hall at anytime during the search of these new people.

You can blame Dennison for hiring only from within, but then you must blame the athletic department too for the incestuous hiring practices which they have utilized for many years. It is never good when a department is so myopic that they can only see into the office down-the-hall. An infusion of fresh ideas from outside is always a positive thing.

Yeah that really helped when Hogan brought in Kennedy as our "big name" outside bball coach. Be careful what you wish for...

Gina....your point is well taken, however, Hogan made the right decision by hiring Kennedy at the time. He had an excellent background having coached in the ACC. Simply stated, something had happened to Kennedy and he was burned out..I don't know if it was booze or just too much pressure, but he was over the hill, for sure. Yes, Hogan made the correct decision to hire Kennedy..he just wasn't the Kennedy he had known.

Yeah, and that Don Read, Jack Swarthout, and Jud Heathcote were sure busts too! I think the janitor from Harry Adams fieldhouse would have a better hire

with the academys largely running a triple option, we may get stomped anyway higher talent or not we don't seem to fare very well against it
Very perceptive, my friend. Very perceptive. :thumb:

Hogan was a bad hire, all bs and zero pop. O'Day was a hard working Griz thru and thru.

Forget all that. We now may have a dangerous president that gives little credit to athletics. Has the extreme view that to hell with a great program, instead have a new "clean John" program with a one win a year in all sports, yeah a clean john program. Just like in the old days.

Engstrom just sent out a list of people he invited to be on the "select the new AD committee". After this hand selected group comes up with a some names Royce will select one ......or as many feel will grab one from elsewhere and name her to become the new AD. Many fear she will be a man hating women libber like we have never seen.

What a sorry state our school is in. My faith in our leader is losing ground.

My attitude on rape is the same as it has always been. Rape my girl and I am coming after you with a knife intending on a nut job. My girl and some guy drinking lots of booze, have sex, cry me a river. Fool with alcohol, drive and get picked up for DUI, cry me a river. A sober "no" will win out every time. A drunk "no" is a yawn job. Sorry! About the only thing a drunk can do is drink.

Move up in league status? Hell we can't define rape. Leader needed, submit resume for UM job to Carol Williams, wife of esteemed Pat Williams the leaders of the freedom for women movement.
