Is hoops okay?

I went to Italy last summer. Rome is amazing if you like history but it is not niche at all. Florence and Venice were both really cool niche spots. Venice is one of the only spots in the world without cars. Transportation is only by boat and walking/biking. Florence was a cool walkable city. Tuscany has similar vibes to Northern California.
granada is perhaps my favorite place in europe. lots of interesting history, having been ruled by the romans, iberians, and the moors (zirads) from iberia via africa. the main religions changed with whoever was ruling at the time. the alhambra was mostly built by the moors, who were captivated by mathematics, and created amazing visuals. it's a unique place, or at least is in my view. i am lucky enough to have spent a few weeks at the old moroccan embassy, with my room's windows opening up to an amazing view of the alhambra. i watched a few griz games online from there, so obviously there is a montana football connection there.

the place is now very catholic-oriented, but the lifestyle, with siestas, tapas at all the bars, large gypsy presence in the surrounding caves, etc, making for a lively night life. if you haven't been, go there, and of course to seville, cordoba, and other cities in the area.

I have been thinking of Greece, I really enjoy the history of that region and was thinking it could be pretty enriching to see some of it with my own eyes.
My wife went to Greece for 2 weeks in June. Santorini, Paros and Athens. Somewhat touristy and Instagramie in some places. Windy at times. Great food. Nice people. Islands great. Athens great. We are going in May/June, to Rhodes and Corfu.

1. My wife used the woman who runs this site. Used the site alot. Joined the Facebook page. Did the $200 or whatever it was planning session by phone. Communicated by email. Everything this woman said and recommended was correct. We've looked at her stuff for our upcoming trip too. She has many contacts. Many of the places she suggests are affordable, but perfectly nice. She's Australian, but marred to a Greek. Greece Travel Secrets is the company.

3. Look at Turkish Air to Istanbul and then a short hop to Greece. Nice airline. Usually way less expensive. Has nonstop flights from about a dozen US cites. Cuts down on travel wear and tear. You can do a so-called Stop-Over fare and stay, for no additional cost, in Istanbul for a few days (and be given a free 4-star hotel).

Highly recommend Budapest, really beautiful city. Great food, interesting history, and awesome thermal baths. Definitely get the Goulash, and if you hear to Czechia, get the Svickova!

Nope. In Turkey, Cappadocia, Antalya, Gulet boat cruise on Turkish riviera for 4 days, Rhodes, Greece, Istanbul, Dubrovik, Croatia. 7-day cruise on mini-boat (20 rooms along Croatian islands and coast, car tour from Split, Croatia, to Dubrovnik to Kotor, Montenegro, to Tirana, Albania, and then too Saranda, Albania and Corfu, Greece. See links to boats and some hotels.
If you haven't been you are going to love Montenegro.

The best food in all of Italy can be found in Bologna, midway between Venice and Florence. Cheaper hotels than either and but a short train ride to visit either.
Nailed this one, Kem! Bologna, Modena, and Parma. Emilia Romagna is what Tuscany promotes itself to be.

Budapest is our favorite European city. Historically takes a beating and keeps on ticking. Wonderful people, most of whom speak English, as even most Europeans are not good in Hungarian. The way it surrounds the Danube is a picture to behold.

I've skied the Cortina women's downhill course several times. How's that? I see that the men's downhill is on another mountain this year. I got momentarily sick when I saw that Lindsey Vohn had crashed. Bummer.
We were there 2 years ago. It’s a beautiful “Austrian village”.

I've seen Hoops water jogging a couple of times. He even talks to people while he is jogging. I'm going back to Europe this coming fall. Will miss a couple of games. So Hoops if possible I would like to get some of your Europe wisdom. I want to explore new areas where you have obviously gone. Buy you a burger at Finley Pt Grill or MoClub

Anytime.

Every time I watch the Winter Olympics it looks like another postcard moment. The images rival the Austrian alps.
Up until WWI it was the Austrian Alps. Great war museum by there. The Austrians and Italians fought a brutal alpine war in that area.
