Is football the most important thing...EVER?

Happy Griz/Scat ya'll! Shaping up to be another romping of an overrated circus...But, that's been discussed already. I have a serious question. I have realized that much of how I shape my identity is based around the Griz, and the mystical experiences I have had at Washington Grizz Stadium. I seriously don't know what I would do without this football team, and this nation of proud fans! Thank you all so much!

The pain I experienced watching the SUU game, I can't express it in words. It hit deeper. A heart thing I suppose. It just ripped me up inside to see the beating heart of this town, this nation, take such a hard loss. It's been a season of hard losses it seems, and that hurts. But, there is something about the Grizzlys, something magical that just can't be taken away, not ever, and especially not by the inferior rivals from somewhere down below!

Guys, I have lurked on this forum for a while. You guys bring inspiration to my soul, the passion of the fans around here. Honestly, I will probably cry today, because our beloved soldiers of the turf will not be playing anymore...But, all is as it should be. It's just that when I have Griz Nation Football, I can ignore the outside world, the wars, the bad economy, my failing marriage, everything just gets pushed to the back of my mind. When I can watch the savage Dan Moore piledriving enemies, I am at peace. And as I watch the MONTANA GRIZZLYS and our mutinous fan base destroy the blue imposters, I will shed tears of maroon joy.

Basically, what I'm saying is this: This team is my life. I love it. I love football, and I think you guys are in the same boat. You get that, and you get my passion. When I travel, people just don't get it. They stare at me strangely when I try to bring up statistics or change the channel at the bar. The get awkward when I show them trading cards of Jordan Canada or Brock Coyle, and they don't know what to say when I show them my inner-thigh tattoo of GRIZ NATION.

Win or lose today, Griz Nation, we are united by something deeper. The color of blood is maroon for a reason. One heart, one mind, one grizzly bear.
