Is a 12 seed something to build on?

I think it is. Let's assume you represent the BSC in next years NCAA's. Let also say you give NV a game. (I think you will) Both of those being true, how could the committe seed you lower than 12?

(I'm a Reno guy, in case you didn't know) Keep in mind NV made it to the sweet 16 as a 10 seed. Let's hope you keep your coach, con't your success and build on it, then the west has another up and coming mid-major. Not unrealistic at all.

As I said in another thread, a 12 seed and playing at SLC is a sign of respect to your program.

I agree, there is nothing but positives from getting the seed we got. It would be HUGE if we were to get a win, even one game. The BSC RPI moved up a lot this season and the 12 seed was a result in large part due to the league improvement. BSC commish Fullerton took some crap earlier this year when he addressed the RPI. I think the laegue will continue to improve. When the me's scholarships were cut to 13, it meant that Mid Majors could get better talent. Get a blue chip recruit and all of a sudden you get some respect. Gonzaga and Nevada are proof.

Yes, now we have to just go out and prove that we are a legitimate 12 seed and deserve to be there. They have given us an opportunity, now it's time to take advantage of it. Will we beat Nevada, maybe, maybe not. But I do think that with either giving them a good game or beating them, the 12 seed is something to build on. We know how Nevada started their run does anyone know where Gonzaga started out as far as seeding when they started to win a few games in the tourney?

Gonzaga really began earning respect during the season by scheduling anyone who would play them. They took some risks and got some big wins. Here is a link to Gonzagas NCAA history
