We have plenty of great receivers, losing Chase is not a big deal at all imo.

It's a big deal IMO. He's the best slot WR this team has.

Having lots of players at a position is one thing, losing the best player for that position is another.
Based on something other than production; he has 19 career catches.

This was going to be his breakout year. Just can't stay healthy. He is a legit weapon when healthy, not unlike the WR from Spokane who we could NEVER get healthy, can't think of his name right now....

No, it is still 5 to play 4. It is similar to Jordon Tripp. He injured his shoulder, but did not play in enough of the season to lose the year of eligibility. Since he played as a True freshman, his redshirt year transfered over to his injured year. The only difference is that you have to petition the NCAA to get the year instead of just not playing and declaring it. Naccarato played in fewer quarters than Tripp did and Tripp's was approved. I would be absolutely shocked if Naccarato does not get his redshirt year approved. It is all about just jumping through the NCAA hoops right now.
And we have such a special place in their heart....

I don't think the NCAA has any malice toward Montana. I think it is toward FCS an the non big 5 conferences. I am sure they would love to just deal with the big boys and count their money together and just allow us to wander in the desert.

Yes. That kid was going to be a stud.

Actually Chase has been completely healthy up until this season. He was behind some guys at his position, most notably Cam Warren, who went through the same thing (waiting his turn). This was Chase's turn to play that role, and it's a role JJ in particular loves. He is VERY HIGH on Nacc, and missing the first four, and now obvioulsy the whole season, it's a big missing piece to what this offense was going to be. I agree with Brint one hundred percent. Yes, the Griz have a ton of WR's on the roster. But they only had one Chase Nacc. But if you don't believe me or Brint, just ask JJ.

It's cheating for you to talk to coaches and players about things like this. Just make it up like many of the yahoos do. Thanks for the info. I knew Chase was a good player and needed, but didn't have this background. It is so unfortunate what has happened to the receiver corp. They are still more that adequate, perhaps even quite good, but not the strength of the team that was expected after last spring. It's nice to see some of those waiting in the wings get a chance and step up. We've lost alot of speed by noting having Walcott, Chase and a healthy Henderson.

Chase has not yet taken a red shirt year.
After a few plays in one game, he suffers a season ending injury; would he not be nearly an auto shoe-in for a medical red shirt?
Yes, 99% chance he will get a medical redshirt. The only reason I say 99% is because the NCAA is a completely incompetent organization.

So a medical redshirt would give him 6 to play 4 if he hasn't used a regular redshirt??

As I understand the rule, a player has 5 years to play 4 seasons. If Naccarato hasn't used his redshirt year yet, he can use it now in his junior year. His problem is whether or not he has already played in 30% or more of the games? 30% of the games is the cutoff point. Maybe if he played in more than 30% of the games, a NCAA petition is required? I don't know. If he is under the 30%, he can just declare that he is using his redshirt for 2014.

Mmmm.....I believe that once you play in ONE game, you can no longer "redshirt"....but if you sustain a season ending injury prior to playing in 30% of the games, you can apply for a "medical" redishirt....

Possibly. But I'm no NCAA compliance officer. Naccarato hasn't redshirted in his previous two seasons so maybe it's just a formality to get his Medical Redshirt approved. I know that it's not like trying to get that "sixth year" Medical Redshirt which is many times not approved.
