NDSU has 31 Minnesotans 21 IN STATE NODAKS...so...this thread is wrong http://www.gobison.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=2400&SPID=695&SPSID=11845" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Nobody cares. The template is set, and I'll be the only one to recognize your factual post.

:clap:

thank you. we dont understand, NDSU has a lot more North Dakota players than we thought (plus more walk on's) we also would like to see NDSU attack the Minneapolis/Chicago area more to be honest. 58% of NDSU"s incoming academic class is Minnesota. Point is NDSU and Coach Bohl visit's every single north dakota high school, NDSU will always get the top 3-4 north dakota kids, thats about it.

I wouldnt be ripping on NDSU or Fargo for lifestyle, downtown Fargo is a party and 30 miles away there are 1000 lakes and plenty of beautiful women... you need to get out more. Oh NDSU tailgating is a party.

It isn't factual, NWF. Because the poster is wrong about this thread being wrong.

Original post says "this year". Not total. I doubt they have 21 in-state recruits "this year".

Agreed. Original post was just quoting the newspaper article with this year's stats. A more accurate thread title/them would have been: "NDS has few in-states recruits this year (although it has had many more in past years). Will this be trend? Does NDS no longer care about in-state recruits?"

I don't know why so many posters want to over-state their point--as this leads to threads deteriorating. I also don't know why so many posters immediately start to argue about something the original poster didn't say, or distort what the original poster said.

Look, the original post was about this year's recruiting class in North Dakota. That's it. I could have walked the subject back a couple years and said the the schools currently have X-many in-state student athletes on their rosters. However it really didn't seem necessary, given that NDSU has four or five in-state kids in every class. That's it.
If Montana only added four or five in-state kids to its roster every year, it would most certainly be an issue for many fans who believe recruiting Montana athletes should be a priority, if not an expectation. And it would be an issue for fans who believe Montana athletes possess some special characteristic that makes them play harder or with more heart than athletes from out of state.

I don't think it's incorrect to say in-state recruits aren't a big deal if a school is adding five or fewer a year. I say that without knowing if some those recruits are walk ons. I'd suspect some are.

If you have been to North Dakota in the winter then you realize how easy it would be to snuggle up to one of the little piglets in January. Oink Oink baby!! Large and in charge.
