Illinois State

Illinois State represented their university well with few exceptions last night. Many in the Cats’ defense did not. There was a lot of post play barking and showboating. Even Taco Dowler’s one touchdown on offense was showboating. The Cats had an entitlement attitude but only won because of miscues by Illinois State. I wish they could have heard many of the Griz fans yelling to guard Dowler on the final play.

The Bobcats had plenty of miscues too. A record I think. And, they still ended up winning despite it all. The Bobcats did block the field goal and got a hand on the extra point. So they contributed to Illinois miscues.

Birds big OL and DL started to wear down the Cats...to bad I think they had
the better team but luck did not go their way...

Dowler's unnecessary cannonball-like feat into the end zone could have been interpreted as disrespect to the opponent, as it was for his team-mate Julius Davis 4 weeks prior- who was penalized with TD withdrawn/15 yards. Agree, the action presumed a favor that another player, especially one of color, might not curry with the refs, and though it was celebrated, felt like entitlement at play.
