I'd like that paycheck a lot.... probably could tell me to show up in a skirt for that kind of money. If it doesn't work out in the first year or two it is easy to try to make changes for the better.

Just because the A.D. recommends you keep certain members of the staff, doesn't mean it will happen. Most new coaches try to keep some guys on board for continuity with current players, recruits, and recruiting connections.

No way in hell, if I'm the new coach, its my show, and I'll pick my assistants. Now if the best candidate is already on staff ( Ty ), than I'd keep them, also helps with continuity with staff and players IMO.

If I was hired as a head coach and had my new AD deny that I was hired I would have second thoughts on the job! Maybe it was not official at that point.

However if it is now official you would think UM would contact the Missoulian and say has been hired and there will be an official announcement on X date and time.
