All the blue bloods of college basketball suck this year. Duke sucks, N. Carolina sucks, Kentucky sucks, Michigan State sucks, we suck. COVID strikes again

Boy did we let this one slip away. This one’s on the team and not the coaches. Our stats were good but we just laid an egg during the last 5 minutes. Kyle Owens was MIA again today. We certainly have the talent but so far no one has stepped up and taken the leadership role that I can see. We have the potential to be very good, in two years. The upcoming deficit will be the 5 position I don’t see anyone on our roster that fills that bill. We’ll probably have to get a grade transfer next year but I think it takes 2 years to get comfortable in Travis’s system.
On a positive note DJ is starting to be more assertive on both ends of the court but he’s about 50/60% of the player he was last year but he’s had issues to deal with too.

This year just isn't normal. The new guys weren't able to play together leading up to the season in a normal fashion. Learning what works about their games at this level is trial and error so missing that court time slowed down the process. It has cost them games. Missing DJ is big as well.

They are not getting smoked, almost every game comes down to making a couple more plays or a couple fewer errors. Learning to do it in crunch time. EWU had the most returning by far and they aren't dominant as far as that goes. The regular season means nothing with all the cancellations around the league, it all comes down to Boise. A couple bounces here or there and they are 6-2 in league.

It's the season of the weird so I can't see gnashing my teeth over things. Seeing growth and incremental individual progress is what I'm looking for. The whole needs work, but there are still 5-6 weeks left. I'll see what things look like by then.

I agree. This is a very young team, and there have been some growing pains, but since there is NO reward for winning the regular season, everything should be designed to have the best team come playoff time, and I think we will be a team nobody else wants to play by then.

I don't follow BB, but did watch some of the key games over the years.
Last year they were looking pretty damn good, and with the commits looked to be world beaters, potential for a long run at the Big Dance. They are now in 8th place with something like a 3-7 record. What happened in the last 9-10 months.

Graduation, players leaving the team, new young players forced into significant playing time, few seasoned leaders...........
