We destroy UNI! First, they didn't beat a good team. Second, although we struggled in the first half offensively, what did you expect? Our defense destroyed our offense the entire off-season, our offense had no chance to practice live. Thus, I think we're fine. SFU was one quarter from the playoffs last year and we beat them by ten--it should have been more. Given this, we're right where we left off last year. Except, it isn't the end of last year. rather it's the beginning of a new year. Awesome! Go Griz.

I have learned two things about egriz. The first, there are a few realistic people. Second, the majority of people could read the scoreboard saying the Griz lost 28-10, and think they won by that score. You fall in the second group.

I would suggest not hitting the pipe until "after" you press submit... :egriz:

I love your optimistic nature. Truly hard to tell what will happen. Depends on what O line shows up. The one at the end of the SFU game or the one at the start. Gus also has to read the defense better, check off and get rid of the ball. He was rusty. Iowa State is an a$$ team. Really hard to gauge how good UNI is based on one game against a poor opponent. UNI will have home field advantage and they will be tough. Griz get a win and it would be a big upset and one hell of a way to start the season.

Even if the Griz had played lights out for 4 quarters against SFU, a win at UNI would have been an upset.

Now, it would be a really big upset....

I attended the uni vs, Iowa state game....observation..on offense we had better be ready for the running of their qb (bailey) who is fast and big...he does not throw the ball very well, and number 32 a big running back that is a stud 6'3" and 232 pounds.......uni's defensive line is very good holding the freshman running back of the year (2015) to about 25 yards his first game as a sophomore......iowa state may not be very good as a fbs team, but with the way uni beat them, it will be very difficult to pull this one out on the road against uni.....our o-line, IMO will not match up anywhere near to where they will need to be in order for the griz to win......I hope I am dead wrong but don't think so this time.......35-17 to the bad guys...... go griz and make me wrong.......

Ball security is key. No turnovers. If the Griz play mistake free football on the road, they'll have a shot....

It remains to be seen how the griz can do with 40ish something new players (wow), a 1 year of D1 experience head coach, and a new head defensive coordinator ... time will tell this year
They struggled with an average team in their own house .. and now go against a well coached UNI team with a lot of depth and proven talent, and will play them "in their house" (not fun).
The Griz are a good team with a lot of history ... but I don't think I would start a post about this game with words like posted at the start of the thread?

the way that EWU played in their first game with a QB that only threw 13 times last year and then completing 34-40 yesterday, my guess is, they may have a better chance of upseting UNI in 2 weeks than we do.
good first game for a young QB, EW had over 600 yds of offense. they have no let down with NDSU next week.

Gus and team will have to be on at the start of the game next week to compete, he/we are faced with the same challenges as most other teams so no matter how much we break down the game we have to play better and at a level where you are in sync and confident.
