In a normal world when you're in any conference not named the Big Sky, Idaho would have to forfeit which in turn would still give us a shot at the bye. Decuire's probably furious.

Is there anyone else UM can schedule this week? 12 days of no-competition (if my math is right) just before the conference tourney doesn't seem optimal...

That really sucks. I already had you guys penciled in for a first round bye. Now, you have to hope that SUU sweeps PSU on the road and that UI will not be able to play in Boise. If that happens, you have a chance at a first round bye.
We lost a HnH with ISU, probably two wins, and a home series with EWU, games that may have changed the seedings as well. It's the world we are in right now.

This is where the Big Sky should have followed the WCC and had an analytics expert determine their seedlings due to each team playing a different amount of games and some teams having a tougher conference strength of schedule. This may not be the exact right answer but at a minimum they should have some sort of seeding committee. I haven’t seen any analytics website or the NCAA NET rankings that have UM ranked lower than 5th in Big Sky. All are in the 4-5 range.

I meant to say reschedule the games and then started venting in my head that they should forfeit the wins to us :lol: unfortunately with it being the last week of the season, we don't have time to reschedule. Don’t we have to beat everybody to win the con title anyway? Seeding is irrelevant except for the bye, which would probably hurt us anyway due to not playing in like 4 weeks. Time to man up and earn it on the court.

Totally agree about a bye being a possible detriment. It's probably too late, but I'd sure like to see them insert a tuneup game back into the schedule between now and the conference tournament. Scrimmages can only do so much to keep a team sharp.alabamagrizzly said:
