We have UCLA, USF, and Oregon State along with GF. Did it ever occur to you that you have to develop younger talent too? Get a clue

It'd be OK for me if the Griz did a home and home with UGF, known locally to some here as UBT ("University Behind Target"). I'm not exactly expecting anyone else on this board to agree but it would be real convenient for me.

Hell, pards, it seems to me like y'all might be in sort of no man's land between a team that can only play those teams on the road, and a team that can get a home and home with those squads. Hell, y'all might have to play a few years on the road against those fellas first.

Anyone else with me?[/quoteWell, it seems to me UM plays at least one of the Pac 10 (12) schools at their place every year and does damn well....The schedule of the Griz is as strong as most other mid majors...look at UCLA for a similary schedule....or Washington...or any of them...travelling and mid week games are expensive...I think scheduling a Gt Falls after a road game in LA and before a road game in SF is a great idea.....

1 NAIA is ok. 3 of 6, not so good.Doesn't have to be Pac10, a couple MTN WAC homes games, or even Big 12/10 would be o.k. Hell even a Big 10/12 would be a nice change.

O'day needs a new rolodex for Christmas, one that doesn't have D-II or NAIA numbers in it.

Playing UCLA was great. Getting OSU is great. These kinds of games make the team so much better.

But, playing every frontier team is too much.

Tinkle was understandably upset that people did not show up to the game last night. It is also understandable that people do not want to come out and watch a worthless beatdown.

I'm with you, pard. I still think y'all probably are at the stage where y'all need to play these squads on the road for a couple of seasons and have successes elsewhere in your schedule before y'all could entice a home and home situation.

About the BMWs, hell, I thought briefly about maybe expandin' on up that way, but David2 told me that no Montanan would ever want a BMW despite what my data showed. I can't trust data over a fella who is on the ground listenin' to the people like he is.

That is probably what the UCLA fans thought too.

Baby steps are needed in building a program. It is wise to sprinkle in some lesser teams with a few better teams. The better programs will be a better measuring stick as to our true strengths and weaknesses. The less programs are needed to build experience, depth, confidence, and evaluation opportunity for the coaches. When we get to the point where we are dominating our own conference, and consistently beating better programs, then it is time to step of the scheduling.

Right now we have a very good team, but the results are more do to a very good 6 man rotation. We need more depth than that to consistently beat the big boys. We need a consistent 8 to 9 man rotation at worse to do what a few of you expect now. It is absolutely we build the likes of Hutchison, Reader, Ward, and Autry before tackling more big boys.

i agree with old codger. compare the basketball schedule to the joke of a football schedule. have a pac 10 team coming to montana. plus already played ucla and soon to be pac 10 utah. enjoy instead of balling your bi+ch eyes out.
