I think it was the wrong decision, but...

I'll admit, for the PROGRAM, I think it was not the right way to go, and that press conference just left me feeling even more scared then before it started. BUT, what's done is done, the Griz will have a new head coach soon enough, and we'll all find out where we're at on Sept. 1 when a playoff caliber Northern Iowa walks into Wash-Griz.

Of course, the mantra will be from here on out "Stitt left the cupboard bare"

What concerned you about the press conference? I didn't listen to it.

Just very laid back approach, no HARD statement on why the change was made, very ambiguous, and no time table for moving forward, but as I posted above, it was more Kent's demeanor. We as Griz, brag all the time about how bigtime we are. IF that's true, then it's a bigtime move when you fire your head football coach. To me, it felt like there was nothing big or important about it.

I can see where you might feel that way.

I felt like he was relieved it was done...I also felt like it was hard on him as well.

Oh no question. I saw him in the third quarter in Bozeman. I told my wife that night, I felt like this was coming down, because the stress on him even before that game was over, I could see it. My assesment from the presser is much more from a journalist point of view than a personal one. No doubt this was tough on Kent, because I know for a fact he really likes and respects Stitt.

I thought presser was good. I just hope he gets going on new coach, that early signing date is huge. My guess going to lose a couple verbal, but that doesn't mean new guy can't get a few as good or better to replace. I really hope keeps Montana verbals coming though.....

I hope people don't claim cupboard was bare....I think recruiting was a strength of Stitt and the cupboard is not bare and SHOULD NOT be used as an excuse

Me too.

Although I would rather see a replacement other than Hauck. Hauck's recruits created the thuggery that Pflugrad got fired for, but who said life was fair? Still glad to see Stitt gone.

Other than Donaldson, what Hauck recruit created thuggery problems for Pflu?

I was just going to ask that as well. My understanding is Pflu got fired for supporting Johnson (his own recruit) and we know what happened with that trial. Hauck did not have an unusual amount of "thuggery" that I recall. All coaches have some kids that cause some trouble

You guys are bigger than me. We were set to pull all UM involvement had this decision not been dealt with bravely. I couldn't bear to watch any more. My first Griz games were the annual Skyline conf. MT/WY game in Billings nearly 60 years ago. Now I have a very nice bottle of bourbon to get to. MSU's little run will be over.

Enjoying some Bullet myself
