Look if Stitt didn't pronounce himself as the "second coming" we wouldn't be having these conversations....but he did so..

No, I'm pretty sure if you review the transcript, he actually said he "comes within seconds." There's a difference.

Oh my bad.

some people get a little overly touchy about bashing Stitt and co..the bottom line is we want him to
produce and be a leader and win the NC...we all hope this is the break out year!

Yeah. He's the ONLY coach who feels that way about himself...

Stitt won't buy my respect and earn my donations until he gets a bruising running back and grounds and pounds like a pinball machine and becomes a national semi finalist. Until then he's D2 and the most overhyped coach in the history of the Internet.

Agreed. We need a ground and pound type RB who is bruising. He needs to bruise other players. I think he should be from Butte or some other Class C program. Living through that legendary cold winter will make him tough automatically. There is no other way he will be bruising enough. I think we should have a bruiser who bruises, from Butte.

I personally think it was the fans that thought he was the second coming when his team beat NDS and trounced Eastern Washington. Then opened up with the road win over Northern Iowa this year.

Don't forget up at 5 A.M. buckin bales and delivering calves before walking to school in 11 feet of snow in below zero temps. Those are the kids the Griz were founded on. :thumb:

We were horrible in the 80s under Don Read
You are exposing your distaste for the facts. Read was 31-16 in the 80's with playoffs two years including a trip to the semis. Pretty horrible when he had to play Nevada, BSU, Idaho, and a then very good ISU every year after inheriting a program that had not had a winning season in 5 years. He never lost to MSU. Next point you want us to believe....

I hear the coaches are bringing in a bruising bruiser of a Butte kid, but he may have to blue shirt due to his own bruises. Not sure if accurate, but it's what my sauces are telling me.

As to Rocket Ishmail's surgery - sad to hear. That guy could really fly. I hate ND, but he was fun to watch. Hope he has a fast and speedy recoverey. Does he have a GoFundMe account? Maybe Stitt could put some of that $300k to a proper use and fund the Rocket's surgery.

....bring home a national championship more so for all the Stitt bashers to eat their words then just to be champions again.

Now I know where this thread is going, all the Stitt bashers are gonna jump in with their opinions on how Stitt is running our program into the ground and that may be somewhat true. After all, it's been downhill since Bobby left. But for only one bad season, as much negativity that is directed solely at Stitt, I will almost enjoy it more to see the eGriz flip flop more then another banner at WaGriz. Jus sayin. Let the Stitt bashing continue.

You may be confused, unabashed honest criticism is not bashing, it's offering a point of view in a sport forum.

I know my criticism, or bashing by your interpretation, of coach Stitt would subside if he would hire a OC and remain a solid head coach.

Now, I know a genius when I see one, and coach Stitt in no offensive genius, and I'm predicating my narrative on the last five games of the 2016 season.

This is just my humble opinion.

The bashers are just the ones making noise and, as with a good deal of the political noise from both sides, only speak for a small percentage of the overall population of Griz fans.
OK so following that line of thinking, then the larger percentage of the overall population of Griz fans were unconcerned to watch the team regress to disarray as the season progressed. Let's deny that it could have anything to do with coaching or leadership. There must be a credible alternative explanation for that observation from Stitt supporters. Or how it significantly changes. Anyone seen those? One move, a good one, to replace Sweat with Troxel is going to do it when he was just given inside receivers? He puts up 44 on Semore's D with a horrible team as OC and gets inside receivers; that shows the promise for change that we need alright.

So was Trox bashed over the head and kidnapped by the Griz or something? You make it sound like he's getting screwed over and he hasn't even been the coach for a day yet. Stitt OFFERED him a WR coaching position, nothing else. Trox not only took the job, but sounds like he took about 1 minute to think about it, per his quotes in stories by by both Kyle and AJ. I'll say it again. Stitt offered Troxel a spot coaching WR's. Nothing more was offered, nothing more was promised.
You missed the point. The point was how much impact he could have with such a minor assignment. He had several personal reasons for wanting to relocate to Missoula. I'm not so sure any of the offensive assistants have much impact on Stitt, how does one expect much to change?

He actually could have a pretty large impact. Last season, in game adjustments were in part made or discussed on the information Mike Ferriter was relaying from the booth. He was giving info on what defenses were doing -- which often differed from from what seen on tape leading up to the game -- and then decisions were made on how to adjust. If that role stays with the inside receivers coach this season, it could have a measurable impact on the offense's consistency

Well, with his 300k per year salary, he should certainly not lose games. After speaking at length with every player on the team about Stitt, it became clear that not too many are happy about losing football games. Just last week, I was at Stockman's Bar, and one of the founding members of the FSPB told me he doesn't enjoy it when the Griz lose games. Take that for what it's worth, but I think it speaks volumes. This new-fangled offense is just a gimmick. We need to get back to the smashmouth type game we used to run in the mid 1990s. Running and ball control. It isn't rocket surgery.

Don't forget his lack of press releases thanking people and wishing them well. That's an EPIC failure on Stitt's part.

Correct, GF. If I see one more lack of a press release after Stitt cutting a player, I will pull all funding I give to UM. I give over $12 annually, so that will show them.

Me too! I'll quit writing my annual check for my license plates! That's right! Then you can all say goodbye to the Championship Center! That's right folks!

Stitt should only get his salary if the Griz take the national championship! Otherwise, he should lose the salary, and be "stoned" ala Life of Brian! I think that's realistic, especially since he's the "second coming!" Opinions?
