Huntley Project. Best ever in Class B?

Just wondering what those who are familiar with Class B ball think? Is this the best team to grace Class B football? Or is it just the weakest field that Class B has produced with only one real dominant team?

If not HP, I would have to go with the 1992 Columbus Cougars. I was witness to them first-hand and they just rolled about everyone they played and had multiple players play in college. Greg Fitzgerald, Brian Brown, Brian (I think) Hamilton, and Chuck Hogan, to name a few I recall were all great players, two of which went to play for I-A schools, though I believe Hamilton went and played basketball for Eastern.

Not sure they are the best, but certainly one of the most dominant. I don't get to see too many games anymore, but follow from a distance.

I think you would have to mention them, along with the Baker teams of a few years ago, and several of the Cut Bank teams. Columbus from the early 90's would certainly be in the discussion.

Rumor has it that HP will be down for a couple of years, and then has a younger group coming up that is very good also. Not sure where I heard that.

From what I have seen and heard, Jay Santy is one hell of a coach. They might not be quite as dominant but I don't see them being down in the next couple of years.

Last years team was way better than this years team, but once this class graduates they wont run the table like they have the last few years. They will still be good just not dominating like they have recently.

There you go, my mistake, thanks for the correction. It's been a while.

How about best ever in Class C.

It's either Drummond 03, Drummond 04, or Drummond 05.

I think Absarokee had a multi year run in the mid to late 80's. One of my college roommates played for them and said they rarely played a full 4 quarters on account of the mercy rule.

Drummond would have had them down 50-0 by half time. They were that good.

Baker, Fort Benton, Malta, and Cut Bank have had some equally talented teams in the past ten years. Class B is down a bit this year, but you really can't argue about Huntley being among the best. Fort Benton had a few years there were they had more than half a dozen kids going on to play college football each year.

While i am a HUGE Northern B guy, how many championships did Fort Benton win?? I can't remember any . Have to win championships to even be in the discussion.
