How are the Griz looking this year?

Looking forward to seeing the Griz in Boise tomorrow.
They are a bunch of Montana Alumni in Boise the will turn out for the game.

Thanks Bob, and welcome back to the board. And yes, we agree on the Boise/UM rivalry. Get us into your conference. PLEASE!

As for the Griz this year, they're young and inexperienced, with a new head coach. The philosophy seems substantially different than Tinkle's, so there will be an adjustment period. The Griz started extremely slowly at Colo State (I think it was 23-4 or something), but then played them toe to toe after that.

There's talent, and some great shooters (who struggled mightily against CSU), but I think there will be a lot of growing pains early in the season.
 
I may also add, that I (and probably others) weren't surprised at the slow start at CSU. New coach, new system, also, was the first game against legit competition - the other 2 games were more like "exhibition" games where the other teams talent level wasn't on par with the Griz.

Offensively, we'll want to push the pace a lot more than the Tinkle coached teams.

Defense is probably the same philosophy... for now - tough man to man D, that hasn't quite came together, mainly just because of the new starters.
