If the NEZ needs a refresher course in how to make noise at a game, I'd suggest they all move to Section 233B.

We'll get your mind and voice back to where it should be...

You're welcome for the heads up. :coffee:

I concur Grizo.... we do ok in our little slice of the stadium.... 8-)

Same for NEZ Section 132 - at least the top half!!!

Haven't been to a game in a couple years. Advantage was in large part due to the NEZ crazies. Hammer, I think it was Hammer, has written that the NEZ is officially dead. Middle of the field, either side, has traditionally been low key. Forget the upper deck snobs. That leaves the students and the Band. The advantage seems to have slipped, unfortunately. There was a certain EWU game a few years back, when EWU was first and goal at the three, down a couple points, with little time remaining. The NEZ, of which I was one, was so loud, EWU couldn't hear the count. Penalty after penalty, last play 4th and goal at their 47, pass incomplete. Chalk the home field advantage to the NEZ. Apparently gone. Sad.

The loudest I remember the NEZ was back in the 01-06 timeframe, playoff games, shitty weather and the stadium not close to being sold out. The N Iowa (Decoite punch game), Sam Houston State when Dustin Long was their QB (Tuff Harris "outhouse to the penthouse int game). The UMass semifinal night game. Those games stand out as games when the NEZ was rocking. Last years semifinal against N Iowa was good too, so I know the NEZ can still bring it. It's just frustrating for me to see so many fans sitting and not even cheering this year (so far)

In 2005 (I think) I was at Griz - Cal Poly game. I was sitting in the south end zone. Poly lined up for a field goal in the north side late in the game that would have put the game out of reach. The noise that erupted out of the NEZ was indescribable. It was sort of a cross between the loudest rock concert you've ever been to and an old school jet engine wound all the way up. I can't imagine what the kicker heard, thought and felt. He missed, the Griz scored two touchdowns to win the game.

Home field advantage. Do your 1/25,000th.

Go Griz!

While I won't go so far as to say the north endzone is dead, I will say that section 132 SUCKS!!! Almost no one stands, and if they do it's cuz they can't see over the few TRUE NEZ fans left in that section. 131 ain't too much better, but at least the few of us still stand (even though the old prick behind us has repeatedly told us to sit down and has grabbed our shirts more than once). I don't even care anymore if I'm one of the few standing anymore...it's the NEZ and that's all I've ever known there and all I'll ever do.

What's with section 132 always chanting "move the chains, move the chains, move the chains, uhhhhg!" after every first down?
That sh*t sucks! Stick to " first down Montana" like the rest of us!

I am also sick of these old Griz fans telling us to always sit down! (it happens at WA Griz and in Cheney too! I paid good money to have a good time and I want to recreate the North End-zone that I always heard about and remember from my college days!

Get off your old fat asses and stand the F up! Go Griz!

Our season tickets are in an upper deck and we are no snobs, but maybe you are. I scream my guts out every game and usually have no voice the next day, and there are others near me who do as well, although many sit quiet, and I get after them every week. Just doin' my part......

I can yell louder than you can - na na na na nah!! Some pretty juvenile one upsmanship going on here. I'm here to tell you the top half of 132 makes a ton of noise. Oh - and unless you are farting your support of the Griz, you don't always need to stand up to make a lot of noise.

NEZ is not dead. I sit there and I can tell you it is alive and well.

Well the whole stadium was dead in the third quarter of the homecoming NAU game! Zero home field advantage when they needed us most. Guess beer was more important!

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Same shit, different thread, year after year after year.

The NEZ is “dead”, the crowd sucks, blah, blah, blah. I’ve sat in the same seats for 12 years, right next to the NEZ, and haven’t noticed this melodramatic change.

E-griz should literally have a separate forum for crowd complaining

NEZ ain't dead. Whoever said that needs to get a hearing aid.

Laughed my ass off. Good line! :thumb: This is coming from one who IS actually losing his hearing. Loud Rock, large caliber weapons, LOUD NEZ fans, ahh the good times. Glad to HEAR the NEZ is still kicking. Keep up the good work, Hammer!
Yellowstone60, you are judged by the company you keep.

I gotta' admit, it did take me a few years to warm up to the "Move The Chains" chant that you guys started. I know you remember me bitchin' about it...back in the day!

Now, I can't help but scream in on our first downs! :thumb: :thumb:

I had an opportunity to purchase season tickets when the expansion was built, it was either that or continue watching at home. I am real sure that everyone in the NEZ is the perfect fan. You know nothing about the company I keep, but you can judge all you want, cause I don't give a flyin' *uck what you think, tourist.

My intent starting this thread was not to call out anyone or any section of Wa-Griz. Rather, it was to point out that our coach has told us that the home field advantage makes a real difference and to encourage everyone in Griz Nation to do their best to maximize the home field advantage.

As I've said it's not hard. Just do your 1/25,000th.

Go Griz!

I haven't heard the "other addition" in a long time, and I kinda' miss it!

It made me, and those around me chuckle when we heard it! What we all thought was the funniest part was that it ALWAYS seemed louder than the "Move The Chains" part that preceded it!

Don't wait 'til mid November to bring it back! Let's start an early practice session this Saturday!??!

agreed, we're in 221 and we yell all we can, but there is a peppering of people up there who do. The guy in front of me at the NAU game was pissing and moaning about the yelling and it affecting his enjoyment of the game so I told him to suck a #### and watch the game at home where no one would wreck it for him. He was upset that someone would say something back to him about him saying something. I don't know how you make people stand up but thankfully, the 4 or 5 seats right behind us aren't occupied usually so I can stand if I want to without having to listen to the complaints.

I'll say it again, crowd noise doesn't make plays and every time the Griz are on the road with the exception of a couple venues they play in front of fewer fans than during the first 5 minutes of the 3rd qtr at home. The entire stadium was standing when the kid from NAU ripped of that opening play for a TD. How come the crowd noise didn't help players make the tackle needed to take the guy down?
