Holst back to the Big Sky???

I heard today that N. Colorado is very interested in Don Holst to fill their bball coaching position.

I also heard that the MSU-B coach (Karst?) has met with ISU officials about their opening.

It will also be interesting to see who Weber gets for their program. I've heard talk of the Utah Valley State coach, as well as mentions of Rick Majerus (I don't see that happening).

Should be an interesting off season for BSC bball.

I would be surprised if Holst ends up at N CO, and I really doubt Majerus is going to take a step down and go to Weber. If Majerus wants to coach, and his health can stand it, he coul dhave any number of high profile jobs, such as Indiana.

Karst at ISU would be interesting. I wonder how his type of guy would handle that environment. Nothing like having to fight the football team after practice.

I really don't see a reason to boo for the guy. He didn't quit to go to greener pastures, and he didn't do anything "bad" to the program, at least I didn't see anything from it.

He took over for Blaine, won the tourneys and got fired anyways. I'd probably clap for the guy if he was here, definately wouldn't boo.

I didn't like Holst as a coach, but I'd cheer for him when introduced. He was a GRIZ! :thumb:

Hey, he won a big sky conference championship which Krysko's never done as a coach or a player.

If Holts got the Job would you cheer or boo him when he visited UM

I would shake his hand before and after the game and hope we beat his team. Holster is a good friend, but not durng the game!

Craig Carse is the coach here at MSU-Billings. He coached under Dale Brown @ LSU, recruited some big guy named SHAQ.

They still remain friends, I heard.

Holst hasn't gained to many style points with many fans. Attendance was dropping faster than you can count to 3.

I will still root for him to have success at UNC, though, not when Griz play UNC.

Unless you count last year????
Holst won the tournament when it was in Bozeman, we weren't regular season champs. I would definately cheer for him though!

Funny story about Holst. He was never big on yelling yet managed to get a technical when he said nothing.

The Griz were killing some team (cant remember) and the refs blew a call (Imagine that!). Holst jumped up from the bench and his glasses slid down his nose. As the ref turned around Holst was pushing his glasses back into place with his MIDDLE finger. He got T'ed FAST!!!!

I laughed so had I cried.

I watched Carse coach when I was in Billings. I think he would do as well as anyone in Pokey.

That cracks me up...especially since he's a good friend of mine. I will have to ask him about it someday.
