NCAA Ethical Conduct

Athletic Department employees and those University employees outside the Athletic Department with NCAA rules compliance responsibilities are subject at all time to NCAA Bylaws 10.1 and 11.1 regarding ethical conduct and the responsibility to positively contribute to a campus culture of NCAA rules compliance. Failure to conduct oneself as such will result in disciplinary or corrective action up to and including immediate discharge.
Doesn't include the pay, I'm curious if they will pay either higher, lower, or the same. It's going to take some brass balls to take the helm of the ship knowing how the last guy was "let go" and that every decision you will make will be under a microscope.

I'm very interested to see who will be interested in this position. Coming into a new job that is in near-meltdown mode is a tough situation.

Anyone out there have a clue on possible candidates?

For all you femi-nazi conspiracy buffs I offer you this candidate:

Haslam and Gee.

Kent Haslem, yes. Gee shot herself in the foot, e-mailing 'inside' information to her significant other.

No! Haven't we learned anything from the last time we hired a fund raiser? Seriously, it is time for some new blood with serious AD experience.

To shake things up a bit, here is a prediction. Gee will be hired, RE will view this as a diversity hire and an attempt to win the vote of some.

Taking this one step further and for discussion sake, Durringer will be gone (boiler mass fiasco), Aronofsky will be gone (assualt fiasco), Foley, demoted for lack of proper PR , O'Day & Pflu, lack of leadership. Question now is, will he fire/demote Theresa Branch? She is VP for Student Affairs and is African American.

For further conversation regarding Montana University administrators (off topic), I am surprised no one has picked up on this one. This year, seven deans have resigned/retired at MSU. This pretty much confirms, the President and the new Provost are both wakadoodles. I wonder when the attention will shift to them.

I don't honestly think things are near meltdown (hot but not meltdown) I would guess that the new AD will be from the outside and a crack administrator looking to build a a resume for bigger and better things, leading the "recovery" here while the programs remain successful (as I am SURE they will) would be a huge feather in the cap for anyone with ambition.

The change in administrators at MSU is no more Surprising than the change here. The two presidents are charge with carrying out a pretty extensive strategic plan. Anyone not totally on board with it will be gone. The re-structuring of the two year programs is only the beginning. A sublte but significant change was the change in admission standards to the two universities. The bottom line is in order for the Universities to survive, there has to be a significant improvement in academics (not that it is bad) slimming down (we are teaching way too much that should have been learned before getting to university) We need to significantly increase the amount of funded research (something that is hard under current conditions)

Its all in both schools strategic plans, they are worth a read.

Not sure you were serious in posting her link, but I live in Des Moines (Drake) and Sandy would be a fantastic hire. She is seriously involved with what happens in the city. Is a great speaker and appears to really value athletics and academics.

As a plus, Rob Ash came from Drake and it would make for some additional fun during Griz/Cat week.

Only half-serious (mainly wanted to preempt the a fore mentioned tinfoil hat types) but she was the best female FCS AD I could find in 3 minutes using google. She does have a decent background and obviously has more experience than the internal candidates mentioned elsewhere. This, I presume, means there is no chance in hell she would be considered.

where is the list of, or link to, people on the AD selection committee?

I haven't seen a list/link (but I've been gone for several weeks). Tinkle, another coach, Maes, Bryn Molloy, and a big bunch of other people, is my understanding. Apparently, some people declined to be on the committee, supposedly because they think the selection may be controversial and they didn't want to be part of it.
