Say what you want but a $3,000 donation to the Griz Band is a good thing. Great that they will be there. They are an integral part of the 12th man.

It is. Very good, actually.

And likely fiscally beneficial as well. I can only presume after cutting bait with the D(ui) Coordinator, they had a little extra cash in the DUI Cover-up budget. That's almost certainly "use it or lose it". Good to get that out money of there by year-end to ensure similar funding for that line item next budget session.

Yep. Placement, layering & Integrating. Money laundering 101.

I can't be the only one who finds this absolutely embarrassing for UM. There's still a long way to go to fix the state of the rivalry because it's just gross for MSU to continue to get good will off of UM's wins. Like I get it, funds are tight, but God.

My opinion may or may not be colored by the fact I have former MSU marching band members who no doubt will love to gloat about this over the holiday.

Exactly!! Waded makes only calculated moves when it come ls to UM and this was very much a “MSU is a large thriving institution that can fund our much larger band, UM is struggling and can’t fund their band” move. Also if this story gains enough traction it will likely be brought up during the broadcast, thus providing national spotlight to an institution whose team lost out before the quarterfinals.

Perfectly stated. It’s $3k. That’ll pay the travel cost of approximately one tuba, but that’s not what it’s about at all. She wants recognition for the gesture. She doesn’t give two shits about the tuba.

*round of 16

In any event, I take solace in the fact that a guy who originally committed to them might carry us to a national title, and knowing that they die a little more inside every time he takes one to the house.

Smart move by MSU. Positive statewide advertising for only $3,000. The only downside for MSU is having to deal with their own fans who are too dumb to realize this was a win/win donation by them

I think we should just save it for now and then donate $3,001 to the Bozeman State Rodeo team to transport the goats or whatever to the next hoedown/hootenanny. By Bobcat logic, that would mean UM funds the Bozeman Rodeo Club.

The generosity reminds me of the time UM loaned out their sideline heaters to one of MSU’s playoff opponents.

You would have rather had them freeze? Maybe you guys could get a SDSU hot box setup to match those trailer end zone setups.

That was pretty mild payback for that sh1tty “Go Villanova” ad in the newspaper.
