I understand we have enough posts on things and dont need another.
But was engstrom trying to save himself by doing this?
If thats the case I think he needs to go too
He stated that they need a change in leadership...isnt he the top of the leadership pole?
I still wasnt 100% a fan of Pflugrad...but i do think he was doing a good job yes there were some problems but i dont think a coach can be held responsible for his players possibly taking advantage of a drunk female.
Shouldnt our whole justice system be overhauled if thats the case?

Come on man, are you that nieve about leadership being held accountable. It's called leadership and when things go bad someone has to take responsibilty, and i'm pretty sure any head coach understands this when they take the job. When your in a position of power, you are indirectly the responsible party when things don't go as planned. If someone doesn't take the fall then who will be held accountable? From the looks of it now no players have left, so they obviously aren't being held accountable. If pflu would have stayed then things would have remained the same as they were months ago. Which would of indicated to the public that in fact no one is responsible for the things or allecations being talked about. I don't really think it was as big of a shock to Pflu and O'day as they have made it sound, the writing on the wall suggested that something was coming down the pipeline.

held accountable for what, exactly? all the very true allegations that can not possibly be false. There is no way the victim's could be lying and the players and coaches telling the truth?

My trouble with this situation is that folks being held accountable didn't actually assault anybody. It seems like there must be another phase to this s**t storm where some (some, a small number) players are held accountable for their behavior. Ugly, I know, but it seems like we must have a long way to go.

I swear, it's like this is the first time EVER a coach/AD has been fired for something like this. Do you people not follow ESPN? :? :? :? :?
