Hauck N the Sky

So with coach Hauck’s return, what level of success will coach have? We all want the level of dominance we had during coach Hauck’s first go around. Could that be the case again? Sure it could!

I think it will be a bit more difficult this time around because the rest of the BSC “mostly” has improved talent wise over what it was nearly 10 years ago. I believe some of that improvement was accomplished by the Griz being down and allowing other BSC teams to prosper with better talent. Not a bad thing all around really!

Some BSC members have seen some moderate facilities improvements, but in all reality are still subpar to the facilities UM has in use for football.

I think coach Hauck will be able to sell the new Champion Center to new / prospective recruits better that coach Stitt was able to. The Champions Center should be a tool that sets UM on an even higher level and I think coach Hauck will be able to utilize the Champion Center, Wa Griz and his skill to get the Griz back on top.

The reality is the BSC is much better when the Griz and it’s fans are on top and all teams and fans are circling the Griz on the schedule like years past. UM will once again be looked upon as the benchmark of the BSC and the FCS. Not a bad thing all around really!

Go Griz!

what is the evidence that supports this statement? Many have said it but I haven't seen anyone provide a factual basis for it. Please do.

I more or less agree with Andrew Schmidt when it comes to the Big Sky talent argument.

While the depth seems to have improved a little, I’m not sure the overall level is any higher than it was before. Relative to the rest of FCS, is the Big Sky any better than it was in the 2000s? Hauck’s teams might have struggled with some Vernon Adams EWU teams, but I’m not sure the talent level of his teams is less than any other Big Sky team since.

Guess we’ll find out in the next three years.

More of an opinion I guess made as a fan and watching some of these other teams compete. Seeing EWU winning a NC game and having a few other deep playoff runs. Toss in a few other BSC teams have been in the playoffs as well, like PSU, MSU, SUU. I would also add in that time frame the Griz have been left out. When compared to what 17 straight years of Griz playoff appearances? I guess that’s that would be my basis.

EWU has really been the only team to do anything in the playoffs in the last 7 years. Every other team in the conference hasn't done squat, which tells me that the conference really isn't any better.

Like Bobby said, the conference isn't any better since when he left. Montana just isn't at the top anymore.

100% agree. There was a book written by a contemporary of Bob Dylan named Richard Farina. It was titled, "Been down so long it looks like up to me"

This is exactly what has happened to the Griz. Only EWOO has shown that they can compete with the elites of FCS.
We need to be up there with NDSU and JMU. Weebs could make me feel differently if they can compete with JMU next weekend, but I won't believe it until I see it happen.

Weber State is making a run this year and representing the Big Sky well. I think coach Hill there is moving the Wildcats in the right direction. I think it will take a few years before the Griz are back to dominating the Big Sky. EWU, Weber, Southern Utah and yes the Cats will all be tough hurdles.

Like coach Hauck said: "That's you're assessment." Bobby believes the only difference from then and now is Montana has slipped a cog and that will be fixed very soon! BACK TO NORMAL Baby"!!!
Go Griz!

Other then EWU wining one.No other BSC team has won one single playoff game. What's improved??? Montana will again rule and give the BSC some credibility.. Something it's lacked for eight years!!!( Bobby Haucks absence) Go Griz!

Weber State just won their second playoff game. I would say they're pretty decent this year.

Well to be fair one of their wins was against another BSC team.

I didn't realize playoff wins only counted if they were NOT against other Big Sky teams. Just kidding. I was mainly only refuting the above statement that only EWU has won playoff games. I actually thought SUU would be tougher than they were, but that's the new Sky for you.

Shit since Hauck left the Griz have won 4 or 5 playoff games , granted two are vacated.

What Bobby will be able to do is make pay dirt with whats in the cupboard right now. I bet we win the brawl this year and maybe a good shot at the conference.
