Can we officially add Bobby Hauck to Haslam's list?
Sure hope so!!!
Several different posters on UNLV message boards are wishing him well back at Montana.......talking like it has been in the works for a bit and it's a done deal but you know how these forums breed rumors.
Highly doubt it. Hack left for the money and the fame, coming back to UM represents failure at the upper level, a drop in pay, and a return to the bad press of Hack teams struggling to keep players on the field and out of trouble.
Hey, quit making perfect sense.
I would agree he won't end up back here but to address your points.....
1. "Money," what is his next move for comparable money to what he was pulling in at UNLV? Guessing he won't be a head at the same level. With his recent record, his choices are limited.
2. "Fame," see #1 above only replace the word "money" with "fame." Oh and change around the words a bit to make a decent sentence but you get my point.
3. "Failure at the upper level," well yes and no. I guess he did kind of fail at the upper level but the director of their athletics department did say it wasn't him, it was them. (Possibly that statement was written in as a stipulation on his resignation papers) We all know Bobby likes his ego stroked....and fans here were willing to do that if he kept us in the W column. Put yourself in Bobbys shoes (and big head) Success at this level or failure at a so called "upper level?" Just sayin'.
4. "A drop in pay," what pay? He's unemployed.
5. "Bad press," he could give a rats ass about the bad press and he isn't as much of a hoodlum as you think. He wants to lead an elite program and sometimes there is a fine line between what is right and wrong. A winning coach often has to walk that line. It happens.
6. "Bobby hates the Cats," that's what you really meant to say and what it all boils down to.
Again, I don't think he is on his way back but I'm guessing you are just a little bit worried that he might be? (Just a guess)
