Haslam will hire the right guy.

One guy I want is John Wristen. Head division II coach at Colorado State-Pueblo.

44--4 over the last four seasons. Beat Sam Houston State in Sept.

That's my guy!

I don't think that domestic abuse charge against Wristen is going to go over well in Missoula no matter how old it is. Violence against women is at the core of the university's problems.

Found out today from a reliable source that Pease is all in for this job - again. At about half his current salary. Great offensive mind. MT and NW connections.

This is great to hear. I'd surely get behind Pease 100%. It would be great of Marty M were to be willing to do this. Pease and Marty as the finalist for the job, GRIZ Nation would win either way. :thumb:

Pease would be a great hire. It isn't always about the money. Sometimes a coach has to get his card stamped as a head coach in FCS before he can realize his dream to be a head coach in the big show. He has not been given that opportunity to move up so far going the "key assistant" route in the FBS. So, he may take a step backwards to try to revive this mess that Delaney-n-staff has created here at UM. Shouldn't be too difficult for any coach worth his salt, with the tremedous recruiting advantage we enjoy over the rest of the Western FCS schools.

We can all talk till we are blue in the face..and some of us have...but nothing changes the fact that this decision will not be made, or influenced, by what is said here on eGriz or the bars of downtown Missoula and all across Griz Nation. I love the interest and the intensity of the discussion. I love the fact that Griz fans are in the "RIGHT NOW" anticipation of the current playoff run AND in the "WHAT'S NEXT" anticipation of the future of the Griz coaching position and what that means to the program. I am also comfortable and confident that Haslam will hire the right guy. When Kent is ready to make his decision and announce it to the world I will be behind whatever decision he makes 100%! GO GRIZ! BEAT EWU!

I have nothing but confidence in Kent Haslam as our AD. I fully support him and am confident he will find the right man for the job. Tell me one significant thing Kent has missed on since he became AD that would indicate any hint of concern about his ability to get this right. The UM Head Coach job is a great position in college football and many quality candidates will apply - far more than has been discussed here on eGriz. The Griz have a quality core of players returning...a great recruiting class...the best fan base in the FCS...the best FCS stadium in the nation...a spanking new Academic Center set to open soon...and the soon-to-be-built Champions Center - all of which will help in attracting a new coach, as well as even more quality recruits. The Griz are on the right track and Kent Haslam is the right man for the AD job. And he will get this most-important-decision-of-his-career right.

Much agree, Haslem has shown a studied, focused approach that has produced in coaching hires and personnel. He will likely himself be a hot commodity for jobs outside Montana before long.
