Harvard has become NFL Tight End Factory

"Five tight ends from Harvard have played in the NFL over the last two seasons. That’s more from the Crimson than from the Alabama Crimson Tide.

A Harvard student named Cameron Brate had an extremely fortunate stroke of luck when he was in college. The best role model ever in his dream job was mastering his craft just a short distance away.

Brate wanted to be an NFL tight end. There was nobody better to study than New England Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Now Gronkowski plays for Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So does Brate. In these NFL playoffs, Brate has been the Buccaneers unheralded weapon. He has 11 catches for 149 yards and added a touchdown in the NFC Championship. It has put him in a surprising position: He has been even more effective than Gronkowski.

In addition to Brate, Firkser and Braunecker, Tyler Ott, who once caught three touchdowns in a game as Harvard’s tight end, is now a Pro Bowl long snapper for the Seahawks. Kyle Juszczyk is fresh off a Super Bowl appearance a year ago as the NFL’s best fullback for the San Francisco 49ers after thriving in the H-back role in college.

[I think the Ivies have had over 20 players in the NFL in the last couple seasons.]

Interesting topic to me as I was recently marveling at what I perceive to be a plethora of talented TEs on the Griz roster coming into the 2021 season; like rarely, if ever, seen before.

Mark it down, Griz TEs, under Hauck's tenure, are going to reign supreme.
