Check out one of your own!

Shane Christensen.

That's cool!

I'm not suprised he made it with the Globetrotters based on his ability to handle a basketball - he used to carry a basketball everywhere he went on campus all day long.

Is that bio information correct (2nd all-time assists and two time Big Sky Defensive POY)? My memory must be slipping in my old age.

Scooter finished with 431 assists, just behind all time leader Travis decuire who had 435. Scooter also won the Naseby Rhinehart Award for Most Inspirational Player in 2001, the John Earheart Memorial Award for Outstanding Defensive Player in 2002. As far as Big Sky Awards, the BSC didn't even name a Defensive MVP until the 2001-02 season, Alvin Snow of EWU was the recipient. Scooter was never named to the All Big Sky Team in any season either so the Harlem Globetrotter guide is in error.

They forgot his Griz nickname, Scooter. He ws one of the most likeable players ever at Montana.

We always refered to him as chicken becuse his legs were so fricking skinny.

Scooter also had the funniest looking free throw style as he crouched down to where his butt was almost touching the court. He made them though.

The Globetrotters aren't exactly a who's who of college greats. I've only ever heard of one other guy-Edgerson from Arizona.

easily my favorite griz ever. though their aren't many! that dude was classy. i remember the big sky tourney when we lost on that rediculous dunk. i mean crazy rediculous! after the game, the usual back and forth was going on between the cat and griz fans. this older gentleman walks up to me in his um gear, and tells me what great fans we have! this with the eat shit, go to hell, i hope you die talk going on in the background. a second later he wants to introduce me to his son. i look, and shane is walking up! yuck. for those that remember, he beat up my cats pretty well that game. anyway, he shakes my hand, repeats his fathers comments about what a good student section we had, and actually apologized for beating us because we were all a little in shock. ever since that day, if the cats aren't playing the griz, i have no problem cheering for the "other" monatana team. sorry about the book, but that was a sweet dude you guys had.

Thanks for sharing that story, sounds just like Scooter.

Bishop Gorman is such a good program its Silly. I live in Vegas and these guys are the real deal. they are THE program in Nevada. Some might say that isnt saying much... But they are ranked somewhere arround 15 IN THE NATION by Usa today. I love how the Private high schools are usually the best programs. Oh the Joy of recruiting! If you Played for Gorman... you are good!

You are right about that. I know Blaine was very excited when he signed those 2 kids out of there.

not that it makes any difference but I made a mistake. I said gorman was the program in Nevada. it is actually palo verde. a public school, but due to all of Las Vegas beign one school district recruiting still occurs. Gorman is a power in football not basketbal. Sorry.

I hate screwing up!
