Oh... and by the way, that was the best team the Griz have ever played at home. (yes ahead of Gonzaga.... maybe TCU would be up there)
They are legit, and it would not suprise me at all to see them in the sweet 16 again this year.
Don't be ridiculous. They aren't even ranked. I've seen almost every game at Dahlberg over the past 18 years and I've seen plenty better.
Stanford had 2 top 10 NBA picks on one team-Todd Lichti and Adam Keefe on a team that came here in 1988-89. Howard Wright also played in the NBA off that team. 3 NBA-ers on one team. They beat us 79-63. Stanford won 15 in a row that year. They were ranked #12 and went 26-7. That is my vote for best team to play here ever.
That Idaho team with Ken Owens was ranked when we beat them in the 80's when they were 19-0 or something. Before my time.
Gonzaga has brought in several teams better than Milwaukee. 2000-01 team was here that went to the great 8. Casey Calvary had 28 against us in a 77-69 Zags win here. Dan Dickau didn't even play that game.
Weber's Arceneaux and Eddie Gill team was dang good. Gill played in the NBA although Arceneaux never did. How was that possible? That guy was amazing. He averaged 22 and 23 ppg at Weber and had 36 when they beat North Carolina in the NCAAs in 99'. The funny thing is we whipped Weber 87-53 at Sentinel HS just before they went on to beat UNC. Arceneaux got ejected from that game.
Mississppi State's Erick Dampier team that we lost in OT 90-85 in 1994-95 went to the Sweet 16 that year.
Milwaukee is good sure, but they aren't much better than us. Everyone seems to forget that they lost their leading-scorer that took them to the Sweet 16 last year. They were better last year than this year. They have yet to beat anybody impressive this year. We are their best win all year.
Let's see if ANY of these guys play in the NBA. I highly doubt it. good team yes, but so are the Griz. No WAY that is the best team to play here.
