Grossman Senior or RS Senior?

In almost every article I read when they mention Grossman they just call him a senior. But with his injury doesn’t he have two years remaining?

Can someone help clarify please?

I have been wondering the same thing. I'm pretty sure he was a RS junior last year, which would make this year his RS senior year. However, shouldn't he be able to get a medical redshirt for last year?

Yeah great link. I’ll post this info. Pretty wild. Thanks for clarifying. Makes sense why there is confusion lol. Guys gotta be like 24 now?

This will be Cole’s 7th season.
2018-Greyshirt
2019-Redshirt
2020-Covid
2021-RS Freshman
2022-RS Sophomore
2023-RS Junior(injured)
2024-RS Senior
It is possible he might get cleared for an 8th season. There is a Miami TE who will set an FBS record when he plays his 9th season next year.

He greyshirted in 2018 and redshirted in 2019, so he’s indeed a R-Sr. He could get a medical redshirt for last season, but the man has been here a pretty long time already and may have a chance to play on Sundays, so it remains to be seen if he’d take it.

I have a vague recollection that his dad or someone else said that he'll earn his graduate degree this year as well...not sure there's another year of study available at Montana

Paging Doctor Grossman. Dr. Grossman you are wanted in the training room...

Does he legitimately have a shot at playing on Sundays? I know he has potential, but his stats haven't exactly been eye popping, he's not NFL-ready @ 220lbs, and I'm not sure a 25-26 year old rookie from a smaller program like ours is that sought after. Seems possible, but not highly likely

At this level, it’s all about how well he runs. If he runs 4.6 he gets a shot. If he runs 4.7 he won’t, regardless of talent or on field production.

Yeah, that's why I said he may have a chance.
