Griz vs UW seating

I know I read somewhere in this forum recently about the seating location of Griz fans for this game but I'm too lazy to find that topic....

Anyways I purchased my game tickets when they first became available months ago. Come to find out today my $80 per ticket seats are located in Section 331 Row 64. For those that don't know that is the 2nd to top row of the stadium. Literally in the nosebleeds.

So I started looking online this evening and found numerous tickets for under $80 in ideal locations in the stadium. I ended up getting new tickets this evening about 10 rows up in Section 102 for $40 a piece.

My question is, why did GRIZ fans pay so much for tickets in the nosebleeds months ago through the U of M? Im sure the simple philosophy of supply and demand dictated these prices but just curious if anyone else has any input on this. Is supply and demand the only real answer?

I'm not trying to complain as many fans I'm sure just wish they were as lucky as me and could attend the game. Any thoughts would be appreciated. GO GRIZ!!!

Here's a pic of the stadium to help with my question.

I think you answered your own question: "...through the U of M."

Where did this school get Engstrom from? Where did MSU hire Costello from? Doesn't it piss you off more than just a little bit to think you can get tickets for half the price on your own versus what one of the athletic department employees can arrange for you? I mean, come on! South Dakota over Montana? Christ! When I'd piss in any of the rivers when I was fishing over by Bozeangeles, I always thought of my relatives in North and South Dakota (and now player rep). Do you think he knows George O'Leary "didn't play the game?" One (of many) great coaches who "never played the game" beyond high school, and yep, there are some high schools in this country that could win consistently at the 1-AA level...(screw FCS designation).

You almost always get tickets for less at away games on you own than through the college. Just like all the bowls. Most of the games are around $10.00 to $50.00 and the tailgating is great.

Off topic, but have you looked at the finalists for president here? Tell Sheila (those of you who know her better than me) to step back into the arena.

I bought tickets through UM because I want to sit among Griz fans. I knew I could find cheaper/better seats. But after going to Iowa City and Eugene for away games, I decided that the point of the trip is to be there to simply support the team. The Griz have a snowball's chance and I want to hang out with Griz fans, not sit around gloating Huskies.

Some U-dub fans will certainly be there gloating, but most (I think) not. Why not? Because the feedback I'm getting from Huskie fans in Seattle and elsewhere is: Why the Hell are we playing an FCS opponent? Really nothing specifically against the Griz, but they're way more worried about their Strength of Schedule. Remember last year year? They do. Until UW beat the crap out of Colorado in the Pac-12 championship game, their fans were scared their SOS would keep them out of the FBS playoffs.

Of course they'll gloat, they are elitist pricks. They shouldn't be worried about strength of schedule they'll get in if they win, and they'll get smoked again by Bama if they do get in.

Did you watch the game vs Bama? They really didn't get smoked...both offenses were terrible and couldn't move the ball.

24-7, was close in the first half, but there was really no question who the better team was.

Their house They make the rules.

Udub has little to gain playing any FCS opponent

Surprising as to why any FBS contending power even fools around with scheduling down.

Same stuff affects us as we try to get favorable teams on schedule without hurting playoff eligibility.

Suspect when all is done Saturday we we up getting the same outcome as MVState got last September in missoula.

But we get a nice check!

UW fans feel the same way about playing us than we feel about playing D2 teams. I mean "Division II," not "David2."

Hmmm, not sure you got an upgrade there. Those seats are in the corner and very low to the field. I haven't sat in that section since the remodel, but I wouldn't have wanted those seats prior to that. Hope it works for you, though.

I agree! Alabama was the superior team but the game was contested more like a 7-10 pt difference. Bama couldn't move the ball on UW aside for 2 runs.

Even the inferior team, if you can keep it within a td all it takes is a turnover or something fluky.

The reality is, these are 18-22 year old kids, they piss and shit like the rest of us, nothing is a forgone conclusion. What was the line on the Tennessee game a few years back?
