I am a Griz fan, and have been for many years. I just get sick of the hyperbole when it is unwarranted by the performance on the court. I said before the game that the Griz should win by 20, and they could of if they had wanted to. Finally played up to their potential for once.

We were at the game too. UND was never even close to being in the game. As I recall, early on, the score was 13-1 -- and it sort of went downhill from there for NoDak.

That score really surprises me, let alone the win. North Dakota beat Utah on their home floor when the Utes were 10 - 1 with victories over Michigan and Hawaii. That loss for Utah started a four game losing streak for them but it's losses are to #7 California and #5 Stanford and #23 Colorado. I wasn't feeling all that confident over a LG victory tonight; hopefully keeping it close. Be a tough game in Grand Forks though, I'm thinking.

To me it was a hell of a road win? The foul count on the road and we still win by 15, and our subs came in and gave away a few, and we still win by 15! Had we not put our subs in, we would have won by 20plus?? So what you say?? It was a great road win, and we had the best 2nd half of the season!

(1) Coleman's inconsistent minutes
(2) Why aren't we using more minutes in blow outs to develop our only 2 true posts, Hutchison and Martin.

The GRIZ have had a few opportunities this season to get valuable improvement time for these this year in 15 to 20 blowouts with less than 5 minutes to go. That experience for development and improvement is critical, and we just not taking advantage of it.

Well, I don't know why you're suprised at #2. Or #1 for that matter. Tinks usually doesn't toss the jucos right into consistent playing time - see Anthony Johnson, Jordan wood, et.al. Also,Tinks has never really used garbage time in blow-out games to develop the young guys. I'm guessing it's something to do with his coaching philosophy, because the only time you see the young guys put in is for like the last minute, if at all. Since we all ask your question #2 every year, it would just seem to be that it is a coaching philosophy thing, no?

As for 2, this year we have a glaring weakness in quality post play, and in my opinion it is more important for our NCAA chances to improve that when we can this year. Yes, every year, regardless of level, I am a proponent of working on your team's weaknesses in games with solid leads. This year, that weakness is post play. We are good enough to do well in the Big Sky with what have now. It will take an awfully phenomenal shooting effort or a bad effort by an opponent in post season play to see more than 1 game. I also am worried about Weber States paint players. They have a huge advantage on us in the paint right now. Got to admit though, our smaller guys are starting to look pretty solid on the boards.

Then again, this year we have a lot more scoring depth, and a great perimeter game compared to most years. This team also hits FT's. Hard to believe this year's team has accomplished being one of the better shooting teams in the nation. That is a great sign.

I just would like to see our post play be improved come tournament time, to better our chances. It would suck to have such a good team beat because of one glaring weakness.

Wanna know where i was for that game? I was in the fucking arena, same place i always am, going ape shit when henderson nailed that three. So if u wanna discuss it im at every home game....1 of about 22 people in section 211, wouldnt be hard to find me. and FRONT RUNNER? hahaha dude front runner in D1 college hoops is not a montana grizzly fan. And ya i do like to puff my chest after griz wins...if they win by 4 or 25! Why cant you just enjoy the fact that we win alot of basketball games...best teams in the nation dont win every single game by twenty, esp conf games on the road...so just get over it

Some random, half-drunken thoughts:

1. Really sorry I had to miss the second half of this game to attend a party.
2. Glad to see the Griz put their foot on someone's throat when they have 'em down.
3. Great way to start a logistically difficult road trip. Lose that first one and you're squarely starring an offer-road trip in the face.
4. Great to see a few additional players step up the scoring in the 2nd half. In the first on the offensive end, it was Ward and Will, and a bunch of guys who seemingly never took off their warm ups.
5. Loved all the "ball steals".
6. Looked like a decent crowd at nodak. I still question their entry into the BSC, but I'll give credit where it's due.
7. Thank GOD the officials kept the whistles in their pockets tonight, and nodak didn't shoot 57 FTs again. I never want to live through another game like that (even if the Griz are doing all the shooting).
8. What a tremendous effort by Robin and the Ladies. Damn, that was a serious beat-down. When that team scores the basketball, they are really, really good.
9. Can anyone give me a few bits of what Tinks said in the postgame?
10. BV, just go away.
11. Gotta run. My wife just said if I don't shut-down and head for bed, it'll be time for a ball-steal. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I'm pretty sure I want no part of it.

Isn't it amazing how a douchebag like BV shows up at exactly the same time as yet another one of Growler/AZGriz/Wolfman/Hairy Bear/Bear Pause/etc etc usernames gets the boot?

What I find so funny about it is if you are used to his bullshit by now it takes about 1 day of him posting to know for sure it's yet another one of his usernames. He thinks he's so clever, yet he's really pathetic at hiding who he is :lol:

1) I think coleman looked off again tonight and henderson seemed to be stepping up so I think that had something to do with it. But don't know for sure.

2) I dont like to slander players because I know theyre only young'ns doing their degree. But Hutch is a write off and looks lost out there similar to what happened with Wood. It sucks because he had so much promise and has the size. Martin on the other hand has a bright future and started pretty well but is still somewhat undersized in physicality. ..Man I miss Qvale...

But overall a very good second half after an ugly first. Hopefully they can keen it going into NCU.
