Griz to play Warner-Pacific

Any background on the opponent? I’ve never heard of them.

NAIA school out of Portland. Have only played 1 game this season which was a 89-60 loss to Northern Colorado.

They’ve only played one game? It’s March. Jeez, did they just shut it down for the year or what?

I'll be doggone!

Over on the Idaho [Game Cancelled] thread, several of us agreed that a tuneup game would be a good thing. Looks like we got our wish.

I believe their conference pushed their games out to March, so effectively their season is just beginning (similar to Big Sky football, I guess). Their game with UNC was last week some time.

Is it easier to “move” against a D-II school? Because the Griz have had more off ball movement than I’ve seen all year. Also seen more entry passes and pushing the ball up the court than all year. Guess its easier against inferior competition...

Size comes at all levels, from AAU to power-5 college level. I've seen (as have all of us, I'm sure) guys who were 7-4/6 who didn't have a lick of talent, but scored points and played defense by simply waving their arms around.

But to me, the main difference that separates higher-level players is overall speed and quickness. You can call it "athletic ability," but most of the time you need that speed.
