Griz/Sac State

I listened to the last 8:00 of the game heading home from the office (ugh) sounds like Stu was on his game tonight with some key steals.

One series I heard Stu stole the ball, drove the lane, passed to Hasquet, and then tipped in the rebound.

Hopefully Strait can go against the cats, it sounds like the inside game was a little lacking (from what I could tell on the air) and the Griz will need some good post play to win on the road.

Also heard that Jordan Hasquet had a double-double, congrats to him.

Mayes was the difference down the stretch tonight. I don't know what is wrong with Strait but Hoilen said he was doubtful for sat in Bozeman, then he said he had no idea what was wrong with him. I am sure Huse will prepare as if he was going to play anyway. We need him in Bozeman. Nice to see Gus Chase have a big game.

Gus had something like 11 points right? Funny with about 4:00 to go Holien said Strait was questionable, so who knows.

Gus had 12 points and 5 boards, 6-6 from the line. Chavez had a horrible start, but made a few plays later. He had 3 turnovers in the first 1:47 of the game. I think he was so hyped up starting for Strait that he just tried too hard.

Gus picked up two fouls about halfway through the first and it took a bit too long to get him back in there. real great effort from him tonight. playing like he has something to prove while not trying to hard and looking an idiot.

If Strait can't go we'll need Gus to put up another solid night against the cats.

I guess if Strait is going to be out this might be the best weekend in that neither sac or msu is that strong in the post, which certainly will help given Gus lack of size. He should be so jacked after tongight he could probably jog to Bozeman.

Hah, he was the first off the court. I had to run over to be sure to congratulate him before he headed to the locker room.

Nice games tonight by Chase, Mayes and Dlouhy. The defense really improves a bunch when Mayes is on the floor. He looks like a seasoned senior out there even though his playing time earlier was practically nil. I really like how physical Chase plays on defense and when setting screens. Dlouhy did a nice job filling the inside void created by Strait's absence. Rundles continued his comeback from the funk he was in earlier.

Hasquet had a double double too. Mayes was huge down the stretch. There is a reason he wasn't getting PT at the start of the season. You have to get things done off the court too. Look slike Mayes has it together now for the stretch run. :thumb:
