Griz Recruit Gus Chase:

Sheridan College fell in their first game at the NJCAA Tournament to number one ranked Howard College out of Texas 74-56. Gus led Sheridan with 18 points. Don't have any other stats at this time but will post the link if I can later today when the NJCAA updates their site. Sheridan had way to many turnovers, 13 in the first half alone but improved in the 2nd half and only had 4. Other than Gus and one other General the other players just could not buy a basket but give Howard a lot of credit with their defense as they are very good at it from what the radio anouncers said during and after the broadcast. Sheridan will now play tomorrow afternoon in a loser out game at 1:00pm MST. They will now need to win three in a row just to finish in 7th place. Hope to post the stats of the game a little later on.

Gus was 8-16 from the floor, 2-2 on fts and had 9 rebounds. He had half of his teams total field goals. Drawing the #1 rated JC in the nation in the first round is a tough deal.
